We did Secrets Rivera Maya! Best decision we made. Everything about it was perfect.

The food was amazing, the staff was amazing, the whole resort was beyond amazing.

We booked ours thorough a travel agent and got an Apple Vacations Deal and paid about $4600, but this covered air fair for both of us, a week at the resort (Sunday to Sunday), and transportation to Secrets from the air port, and back at the end of the week.

I went to Secrets Rivera Maya, too.  Did you check out http://www.cheapcaribbean.com/ ?  That’s how I booked my HM.  I had a great time!!

We did Secrets Maroma Beach last year for a week.  With airfare and everything it was about $3K for the two of us.  Booked through cheapcaribbean.com

We went to Secrets Maroma Beach last month and it was AMAZING.  We were there for 8 nights (June 20th-28th) and flew out of Ft. Lauderdale staying in a Preferred Club Ocean View Junior Suite including transfers to and from, the honeymoon package with free massages, private beach dinner, and much more for $3900 total.  It could have certainly been done for less money had we gone for less nights and chose not to stay in a preferred club room.

We found the deal on Cheap Caribbean and our travel agent matched the price of the total package.  We also set up a Honey Fund so we only had to pay for some of it ourselves.  Let me know if you have any questions about the resorts – I did a LOT of research on them and stopped at the others to drop people off after the airport.  I highly recommend Secrets Maroma!!  Here are a few pics from our trip…some inspiration!

@BluegrassBridetoBee: Yes, keep watching.  It changed so much when I was in the process of booking.  Sometimes our same package would be around $7000, but then go back down.  As I said, we got it for $3900 and it certainly could have been less, so keep looking.  It just recently moved to the #1 spot on TripAdvisor so it may stay high for a little while.  Are Silversands or Capri any less right now?  Have you looked into Excellence or The Royal?

We paid $5500 CAD for 11 nights in a swim up suite, flying out of Toronto.  (secrets maroma).  It is one of the pricier resorts in Mayan Riviera, but sounds totally worth it!

@BluegrassBridetoBee:  Secrets Maroma is hands-down my fave of the Secrets properties in Mexico.  Since you’re not going ’til May, a lot of promotions for that time of the year aren’t even available yet.  Sometimes packages are less expensive for others because of airfare, too.  For example, flights from major hubs like Miami, Chicago, NYC, etc. tend to be much cheaper than those from smaller airports like Lexington or other places in the midwest, so that’ll impact overall pricing, as well.  If you decide to book it now & finances loosen up down the road, remember, your agent should be able to readjust the booking for an upgraded room category with a view or a swim-out suite.  I wouldn’t sweat it just yet!
