A Practical Wedding and Offbeat Bride both have great resources for this! I just saw an APW post on this awhile back... Meg did a "traditional" ceremony post, and then one of the other writers did a "non-traditional" or secular one. It talked a lot about sitting down and figuring out what marriage means to you and going from there.
I would actually recommend having the wedding somewhere that isn't a church/synagogue if you want a truly secular wedding. We had my mom marry us (both agnostic but he was raised Jewish, I was raised Episcopalian). We got married at an art museum. No stepping on religion's toes there :-)
@crayfish: We are not having it a church or synagogue. We are most likely going to have it a museum, park or hotel.
@tee22: I heart OBB. I definetly have to check out their vendor section and post. Thanks.

Hi Bees,
My FI is Jewish and I was raised Roman Catholc (pretty much consider myself agnostic). Anywho, between his family and mine, we just decided to do a secular wedding. Well, besides trying to find an officiant we are also trying to figure out an order of the ceremony. Any thoughts of where we can find some wording. I guess the fun thing being that we aren't going with a church/synagogue we can do our own thing but now we are struggling to figure that out.lol. Any suggestions bees...? Thanks.
