interesting question! i know that you can get secular pre-marital counseling, but i don't know about retreats!
@Rock Hugger: If you're looking for something secular, I'd avoid Engaged Encounter. It's very intense and definitely geared toward church teachings. Look up "couples retreats" generally and see what you find...I dunno if your username means you enjoy climbing but an Outward Bound sort of thing might be perfect!

Hi Bees! FI and I are both lapsed catholics, and we are not getting married in the church - which everyone ('rents, IL's, us) is OK with. However, I know that my catholic friends (and some bees) getting married in the church had to go through a "pre-marriage retreat" with their FI. I really like this idea and I have heard many good things come out of sharing a whole weekend with your FI to build and enhance the relationship.
Does anyone know of any non-religious "engagement retreats"? Any reviews - good or bad?
