I love drop veils so - so dramatic. A long hat pin will work well and the veil is very secure, they're usually about 4 or 5 inches long and when you put it on you sort of weave in and out of the hair like you would if you were sewing (does that make sense?). And I love that your FI is the one that will veil you - you can actually let him help you pick out the hat pin. There's so many on etsy - too too many in fact. Here's one that I would consider if I was doing a drop veil and it could be your something new.

For the ladies who have worn/will wear a drop veil, how did/will you keep it on your head? I've read that it's traditionally secured just with hair pins (bobby pins?), but I worry that hair pins won't be very secure. Also, we'll be doing a Jewish tradition called the "bedeken" in which FI will veil me, not someone else (like a hairdresser) who might have more experience putting the pins in securely.
So, I'd prefer to use a clear comb, but I don't think I've never seen photos of women who used a comb. I wonder -- does it change the way the veil falls? Or, can you seen the comb in photos since the veil is so sheer and simple?
My favorite part of a drop veil is the fact that it looks as if it's just sitting on the bride's head in a very simple, ethereal way, so I want to make sure the pinning/securing method doesn't take away from this look!
Any thoughts/advice? Thanks!
