security envelopes for STD's ok?

We are trying to cut cost anywhere we can. I just got a box of small envelopes for our STD's for $3, but they are the security type, which has the light blue crosshatch on the inside so you can't see what's in there. Obviously it doesn't matter if anyone see's what's in there, but is this tacky??? I figured, it's just the STD's and we can go with fancier ones for the real invites. Our wedding is not traditional and not formal.

what do you think?

I think the security lining is fine. As long as the save the date fits well in there, I don't think anyone will even notice. The envelope usually gets thrown away immediately. Anyone who tells you differently... is probably one of us lol.

I think it's fine, a Save the Date is informal as it is. I don't think anyone will notice except us bees, and honestly don't sweat the small stuff. If you WANT to do a liner that's your own thing, but I wouldn't ... heck I'm doing a postcard.

Thank you ladies. You're right, no one will notice. I'm going with em. I find myself getting caught up in all the little details and it can be utterly exhausting at times.
