I think you'll need a lot more time than you think for pictures. I can't say for sure but after giving ourselves 2 hours for engagement pictures and running out of time...we want to leave plenty of time for pictures.
We are planning to see eachother before the ceremony and here's what I have planned for my 4pm wedding.
11am--pictures with the girls getting ready, group pics at my house
12pm--Second photographer taking pictures of the guys getting ready and group shots
1pm--meet mr LL for the big reveal and pictures while bridal party gets lunch
2pm--bridal party photos, girls and guys
3:15--leave for church (which is 15 minutes away from where we're taking pictures)
After ceremony
4:30-5:15--pictures with family
5:30--go to reception hall
6-7pm--more bride and groom pictures and outdoor family pictures
(dinner is served at 7pm)
You may need to alter your schedule based on what kind of shots you want and how many, how big your briday party is, how big your family is, and how many locations you want. We can't afford and don't have time for a day after shoot or TTD shoot, so I want to make sure we can fit everything in on the big day!
Thanks for sharing your timeline, Latte Love! My FI and I are going to take pictures beforehand to eliminate some of the picture-taking after the ceremony. Hopefully we'll be able to spend some time with our guests (most of whom are coming in from out of town ) at the cocktail hour!
We took all of our pictures before the ceremony, so we started pictures at 12:30 for a 5 pm wedding. This included all family pictures, pictures of just the two of us, etc. I honestly wish we would have allowed for a bit more time, because we ran out of time!
Empyle1- did you guys take pictures from 12:30 to 4:30 (just guessing) straight? That seems like a long time!
It always takes way longer than you think! We did the reveal at 1:30 followed by pics of just us, then the fam joined in for some pics at 3:00 and the ceremony was scheduled for 4:30. It does sound really long but even with a wicked photographer (which we had), it takes awhile. If you have extra time to dedicate to photos, DO! You won't regret it, but you might regret not having enough photos!
Thanks Seabreeze! I loooove pictures, so I definitely want to make sure that I have enough time before the ceremony. Now my only task will be convincing the groom to get ready a few hours earlier! :)

If you and your FI decided to see each other before the ceremony, how long before the ceremony did you guys see each other?
My ceremony is at 6 pm. I am trying to judge what time we should see each other-
Should we be all ready and see each other by 4:30? Take pictures 4:30-5:30? And then go back to the hotel to freshen up before the ceremony at the chapel? All of my locations are within 2 minutes of each other (chapel, outdoor areas to take pictures, and hotel).
Was one hour enough time to take pictures before hand? Did you include bride, groom and bridal party only, or parents too?
