We are providing transportation for our guests from the hotel to the ceremony/reception venue 5 miles away.  The local city bus (clean and efficient) allows you to charter their buses and it's very cost-effective.  It will be approximately 1/3 the cost of chartering  minibuses from a  limo company.  What do you guys think?  Is that going to look "cheap"?  If you were a guest provided with free transportation, would you care? Thanks in advance for all comments!

I think it's better than a school bus! I think most people would be pleased to have free transportation.

well we're doing a school bus, haha. imo, crappy transportation is better than no transportation right? i'm pretty sure guests will see it as a convenience.

We are having school busses too.  We haven't had transportation provided at the past 7 weddings we went to - and it really bothered me that there were likely people driving drunk.  Everyone is happy for a free ride and transportation is a great gift to give your guests.  We were thinking of handing our guests "school books" when they got on the bus (crossword puzzles, etc.) - you can tie it in with your theme.  Or don't.  It is just so nice for guests to not have to worry about transportation.  It won't look cheap - you paid for those busses so your guests could enjoy themselves.

As a guest, I wouldn't care what the free transportation looked like.  I would just be thrilled at the convenience!

I think that your guests will be pleased that you have provided transportation for them no matter what it is or was.
