In the past I’ve had hair cuts that weren’t overly layered and weren’t overly thinned at the ends, but still had movement, and a chunkiness-or piece-y ness. Like the ends finished into a sweet little curved tendrill. What do you call that? For the past 2 year & 3 different stylists I either get a blunt cut (does not work with my texture-all sticks together in a glob) or I get these crazy layers (I had my crown cut to about 5″, while the rest of my hair was 18″), or I’ve just had the ends thinned to shit – where is was just a thinned out shaggy mess. I wear my hair long & simple, I used to like to wear it wavy but these bum cuts have made it difficult. I wear a bun or a hat every day now. My hair could hardly be less manageable.
What terminology do I use to just have my ends finish nicely, give some shape, where my hair parts & seperates naturally on its own? I’m going back to an old stylist that I haven’t been to after moving. I’m driving 1.5 hours to get there. And this girl has given me incredible haircuts before, but she had also given me very different haircuts than I asked for.
My mom did hair – a loooooong time ago. She said I need to ask for “textured ends’. But the terminology could be different now. The last haircut I got I asked for textured ends & I ended up looking like Winona Rider in Bettkejuice. No Jole. I cried & cried. I can’t have that happen again this close to my wedding,
