My photographer is awesome. She is WAY under 8,000, but great quality. All her packages include 2 photographers w/all day coverage. Her personality is great, and she did one of my professor's weddings and she absolutely loved danielle.

His packages start at $4,400 and i think i paid around $6k and got 8 hours + associate photog + an album + all negatives +engagement shoot + some other stuff. great deal!
Definitely check out Steve Planck at Blue Sky Photography he's based in the Hudson Valley but travels too.

I used danloh.com and he is in your budget but the one that "got away" was jamesferrara.com. He captures such amazing moments and his albums are insane. Dan is in the city and came recommended by Jimi and Jimi is in Cornwall, NY.
Jimi actually recommended the same person as MissCamera too.

We got two photographers for 8 hours plus an assistant, engagement session, photo album, 2 parent albums Dave is super laid back personality wise, but really on the ball when he takes pics. We really liked him! He is well under $8K - I think we got everything above for $5K-$6K.
Given that we had 2300 pics, I doubt he will touch them all up, but haven't asked...

i am at my wits end having met with so many wedding photographers in NY/NJ.... the ones i really love are (of course) already booked, and the rest are just ok. does anyone else feel like some of these photographers are definitely not worth what they are charging? my fiance still doesn't understand how for $5k all we get are 8 hours of service and negatives on a disc (if we even get that at all!)
anyhow- can anyone recommend any really good NY/NJ wedding photographers under $8k? especially if you know anyone who edits/touches up ALL of your photos (not just the ones you put into an album).
