Hi all! We’ve finally committed to a date and I’m a September bride! We’re planning our wedding from Baltimore, to take place in a small town in Massachusetts. I know New England is known for it’s fall leaves, but at the time of our wedding I don’t even think the leaves will have started changing and hotels are EXPENSIVE! Wedding planning has been smooth sailing so far but I’m having major anxiety about guests having to pay extra for hotels.
Has anyone else dealt with this? Hotels or just the struggles of beng super in-season? I was originally planning for a winter wedding so I’m not used to peak season issues– UGH! But yay for all other wedding planning going well! 🙂

I’m so glad to hear that wedding planning is going well overall! I think many of us have dealt with issues of peak season weddings — there’s always something, right? 😉
How expensive are we talking? Is it possible to block out rooms at a couple of hotels at different prices?
Also, don’t forget that when it comes to discount hotel rooms, the Internet is a great thing. If your guests are looking for something a little less expensive that what you’ve been able to block out, they can always check out Priceline or Hotwire or one of those discount sites. 🙂

@SoonToBeSimmons: Is it possible that everything is so expensive right because of how far out the wedding is? For these types of things there seems to be a sweet spot.. not too far, not too close, where prices go way down.

I’ve decided to just do my best and let guests do some searching on their own if prices aren’t what they’re looking for! Thanks so much for the advice 🙂 It’s so easy to get caught up trying to arrange things perfectly..people are just going to have to either drive a bit or pay a lot– and they’ll make it work! Not worth me stressing out over!

My fiance and I are planning a wedding six hours from where we live. Having a hotel wedding was our best option! We also have alot of out of town guests and it will be so awesome for everyone to stay as long as they can at the reception and not have to do any driving! It’s also great for us because our wedding night room is free! It’s certainly not “cheap” but our ceremony, cocktail hour, reception and hotel is all in one place. Consider it a one stop shop and youre not spending money elsewhere!
