I’m a size 5/7 in street clothes. My two best friends are like 0/1 in street clothes. And are probably around 100 pounds. Haha. So I know how you feel. However, they both wish that they we a bit bigger. So just because they are smaller than you don’t think that they aren’t self conscious, you never know they might wish they were your size!

Seriously? Size 4??  Am I missing something? Sounds like y’all need a bunch of sandwiches.  Not even children are size 0 or 00 anymore!! I thought they were newborn baby sizes :-/

if I was a size 4, I would be the smallest person I know…

i didn’t realize that 00 was an actual size used in adult clothing.

@californiabride2013: No. I am comfortable with myself. People are all different shapes and sizes. Our clothes size shouldn’t define who we are.

@FortiesFlare:  It’s not really in adult clothing, to be honest. Maybe there are some specialty shops that had them.

I know a woman a wore a 00. She had a HORRIBLE time finding clothes. She either had to shop at a juniors store that carried 00 [like Aeropostale], or find a kids clothing store that had clothing in “tall” [even through she was short, kids clothes were too short].

I understand that everyone has body issues, whether large or small. But honey, a size zero sounds pretty unhealthy, and a size 4 even sounds on the smaller side. Don’t compare yourself to your friends, just live your life and be your beautiful happy self.

@californiabride2013:  I highly doubt the girls or anyone else is going to be comparing your bodies while you’re out together.

A size 0/00 exists in the US because of vanity sizing. For dress size, it’s usually 32-23-32, which isn’t that small. With vanity sizing, retailers realized that they needed to maintain sizes for their more petite consumers while reducing the size of average/larger consumers.

A 00 is usually a UK2, a French size 30, and an Italian size 34, so while on the small side of the spectrum, it’s hardly child sized.

@californiabride2013:  i’m going to give you some motherly advise:

if you love who you are, your size should not make any difference.   for those people who judge and compare by dress size, well, they are the ones with a more serious problem and i would feel sorry for them.

some of the most confident and beautiful women i know (inside and out) are no smaller than a size 10.

@letigre:  I just checked the conversion for an Australian size. A size 0 would be an AU 4 which doesn’t actually exist (that I have ever seen) in any retail store, let alone a 00 (I assume AU size 2!!) Smallest I have ever seen is a 6 (US4).

I also had a look at size 0 measurements and they are 32-22-32. A child’s size 6 measurements are also waist 22 inches so we’re talking the size of an average 6 yr old child. (http://www.childrenssizechart.com)

Makes me glad I’m not into “vanity sizes” 😛 I love my food way too much to care about what other people think. Much more important things in life to worry about!

I couldn’t wear a 0 just because my hips are too wide.  Even when I was about 109 lbs at 5’4″ I couldn’t get in anything smaller than a 3.  I wear a 4/5 in pants now.  I still shop Juniors for the most part since I like the style of clothing better.

@californiabride2013:  dont. I feel the same way sometimes but honestly a lot of guys dig a more feminine look- the skeletal thing is coveted in fashion/media but its not the end all be all.

Also- youre tiny.  CA is getting to you!
