I’m going through my closet and I have a ton of clothes that I don’t wear. I’m going to donate a bunch to goodwill but I was wondering if anyone recommends a place that I might be able to get money for some dresses? I have two dresses from weddings this year, both in perfect condition and still being sold at Nordstroms so I was wondering if anyone has any luck on ebay? I’ve heard of Plato’s closet but there isn’t one in my community. I wasn’t sure if they take dresses. Would it be worth a drive out to them? Any other suggestions?

I LOVE Plato’s Closet, I usually get a pretty good amount of money back for clothes I wasn’t wearing anyway. Mainly they want everyday stuff like jeans, t-shirts, dresses and shoes/accessories, but not really formal dresses. There is a store called Clothes Mentor, owned by the same company, that is designed for a little bit more mature of a demographic. Plato’s prefers Abercrombie, Express, Lucky, that type of stuff and CM is more like Ann Taylor, Chico’s and wear to work clothes. There is some overlap between the 2, in my experience…I have a TON of clothes from The Limited and have had success at both places. You may be better off trying a consignment store in your area for the dresses you mentioned, particularly one that sells upscale clothing, since they give you a portion of the cost it’s sold for.
