Okay Bees, sorry I am probably posting this out of place but I am really needing some advice on selling my dress.
I listed my dress on OnceWed.com (VW351011) for $875, final sale, buyer pays shipping.
So, I have this buyer that needs the dress shipped to New Zealand. We have e-mailed back and forth regarding shipping prices and have finally come to an agreement. She paid via PayPal and I asked her to list the payment as “personal” to avoid extra Paypal fees. I know, that may raise a red flag to some of you but the buyer agreed, no problem.
Now, the payment is pending and states it is “under review” with Paypal. I am obviously not going to ship the dress until I have the money in my bank account. It also states the payment was made in Australian dollars… but she needs it shipped to New Zealand.
Should I be worried that this is not a legit sale of my wedding dress? Should I be worried that the buyer can later say she didn’t get the dress or file a dispute with her bank or credit card company? And lastly, is it possible for Paypal to withdraw money from my bank account if the buyer’s funding source does a “chargeback” against my Paypal account?
I’m planning on shipping via USPS, insuring for the purchase price, and including a return receipt (which is supposed to give me some kind of confirmation that the package was delivered and signed for).
