Okay the first post got all messed up .. luckly I copied it before submitting
So I wanted to show all what I've done with my invitations. I was lucky enough to have my fiance's friend own a printing press which is specializing in invitations and such. I designed my invitations in Photoshop and sent it away. This was along with my menu anddirectionsin an enclosure and my rsvp cards for those who are out of country.
I got them and started putting the two cards together .. then realized I needed a map. Thanks to this post Ias able to whip one together in an hour. But things still looked bland. And then there was the ordeal of how to put the names of the inviteesand where. I was only using one outer envelope and thought it would look weird to put Miss XXX and Guest on the envelope.
My brain started churning ideas of a ribbon to go around the three pieces of cardstock. Off to Micheals I went. I got a 2.5" green wired ribbonto match my invitations (wired to help keep it in place when I went to secure the two ends together). I got a fabric pen and some gold pens to write on the envelope with.
Night 1: Tried the fabric pen and didn't like the results. It was hard to write with and it spread to take the fabric around where it was a bit darker and hard. I was going to have to go back for fabric paint.
Night 2: Found some glittery gold fabric paint and it looked great! I was able to do a little cursvie with it too.
Here are the steps I needed:
1. The ribbon was cut to a measured length.
2. The ribbon was palced with the cards and hot glued together
3. I placed 2 pieces of scrap paper inside the ribbon so the paint did not make the card wrinkle
4. Paint the names of the invitees on the ribbon
And the final product (the paint is still wet):

5. Cut little bows out of the lilac ribbon (I bought to add some color)
6. Hot glue the bow together, then on to the green belly band.
7. Using glittler glue, add some glitter to the lilac bow
8. Wait 4 hours!
And finally, the envelope. I wrote the names/address on the front and put awax seal on the back.
Hope this helps anyone spicing up their invitations. :)
Oh the seal did cost 20 cents extra in the mail. Just something to consider for those on a budget.
See my gallery for the other pictures, it won't let me post for some reason.
Here's what they look like finally:
