What have your experiences been in having your bridesmaids/MOHs order their dresses?
One of my matrons (I have two, and they comprise my bridal party) just told me — prefacing that she doesn’t want to freak me out — that she just ordered her dress, but that it will take 12-14 weeks to come in. At the latest, that means an arrival of September. My other matron hasn’t ordered her dress yet due to woes over her post-baby figure and the fact that she needs to go up to a size 18 due to her waist measurement. Luckily, the matron who’s ordered her dress is going to talk to my other matron to tell her that she needs to order NOW. (I’m not as tough as she is!)
Then, they need alterations done — the matron who has ordered won’t need much, while the other might need a lot.
Should I be semi-freaking out right now, as our wedding is in early October?

It’s cutting it close, but you should be okay. Dresses often come in early. And considering your one MOH has already ordered her dress, it sounds like there’s no going back now, right? And no need to fret, as there’s not much you can do but wait. (And make sure the other MOH orders her dress!) If you know they’ll need alterations, maybe you can start talking to alterations places early and have them prepared for the possibility of needing a quick turnaround come September.
This is one of those times you should remind yourself only not to stress too much over things that are out of your control. 🙂 Hang in there, and I bet they get to you earlier than expected!

@Gemstone: Thanks for the reassurance! I mean, when I bought my wedding gown last August, they told me six months–and it arrived in less than four months. Granted the ladies’ dresses are from a different shop, but I’m hoping it’s the same sitch for them.

I would say as long as you order soon, you ill be fine…but do not wait too much longer!
