What kind of venue is it?
It depends on the place you have, but I set up a flower petal toss for one couple's send off, and it was pretty nice. The venue didn't mind, so it was easy...I know some churches have restrictions about that kind of thing.
Its my church and there are no restrictions. Hmm I need to look into a flower petal toss. I am not sure what that is, but I will find out! Thanks!

Other options are sparklers (although you need to be careful if you have little kiddies running around), little bells to ring (we did this), ribbon wands (that have been blogged about here on weddingbee), or streamers (this is what my friend did). There are lots of great optioins, so look around and I'm sure you'll find something you love. Good luck! :)

Ok I really like the sparkler idea. And so does my fiance! Now I'm wondering how you do it? Do people light their own with matches, maybe they get lit with those torches that stick in the ground? Thanks for the help!!
flower petals are a great idea- I love bubble (they sell little wedding bubble bottles) that I had at my engagement party and they were a big hit, but it might not fit your theme

Matches don't work well with the big ones. They light faster from other sparklers. We are having 4 designated sparkler lighters with smaller sparklers. And also having guests light their neighbors in line.

I need help trying to think of a send-off (i guess that's what they are called...). I don't really care for bubbles or birdseed or anything else thrown. I am partial to glow sticks (Friday night wedding), but sadly my fiance isn't too keen on the idea. He seems to think the only send-off worth anything is when guests throw something. Any suggestions?
