I don't think so. Since you already received the invitation, it'd be appropriate.
No it isn't too early, just make sure there is a note that clearly states it is a gift for their wedding (so they dont get it confused with a shower or engagement gift)
Definitely not too early! In fact, I really appreciating receiving early gifts by mail so that I could put them away and write thank-you notes. That lessoned the amount of gifts to put away and write thank-you's for when we came home from honeymooon.

I'm attending a friend's wedding in mid-January and received the invite two weeks back. Another friend and I have decided to go in on a gift, but the one we chose is cumbersome and I don't want to make them get it home.
Is it too early to send the gift to their apartment? (seven weeks out...)
