No, just no. If I were sent a FB invite to a WEDDING I would ask them “When is the formal APPROPRIATE invitation going to be sent out?” SMH freakin’ FB is not the way to invite people to a wedding.

If you are interested in going, I would just RSVP for the both of you and wait to see if the bride says anything. I would assume that you are both invited since you are a married couple. It’s obvious though, that the bride is a bit frazzled if things like a RSVP by date and guest number aren’t included!! Poor thing!

I’d just call them and ask!  Plus you can just phrase it like “hey, the info on the paperless invite was different than the fb message, just wanted to get my details straight…”

I’m okay with an online RSVP, NOT an online invite.

@bummbledbee:  Then I would definitely reach out to her. It sounds more like they just don’t have their stuff together than just being frazzled!

@figgnewton:  I agree with you, when are the formal invites going to be sent out?

I can’t imagine sending or receiving an evite to a wedding.  So strange.  Funny story, I sent a gf of mine our wedding website for critiquing, she thought it was the actual invitation and RSVPd.  After I told her we’d be sending formal invites in a month or two, she said “oh, I was thinking it was odd that you had the website up and thought it was the invite.”

Oh goodness… Why do people do this? I know wedding stationery is expensive, but there are cheaper alternatives! It gives such a bad first impression of the wedding! As an invited guest your DH has every right to ask for clarification on everything.

I was invited to the evening reception for a wedding recently, so I asked if my fiance was also invited as the bride is a good friend of mine, she said no because of ‘budget issues’, – i am not sure what these budget issues were exactly because we werent served any food and paid for all our drinks!

Why can’t people just get it right?

If I were you, I’d sit this one out. I mean, if they’re this disorganized about the INVITATIONS (which are kind of one of the easiest parts …) just imagine what a clusterf*** the actual wedding might be. Food disasters, drink disasters, ceremony disasters … yikes.

@bummbledbee:  I would get your DH to call them, rather than you because he’s the one invited. He could just mention that there was some missing details on the invitation, such at +1’s, date, time. Make sure he just says is casually and not “is my wife invited?”

I think that if this is a DW, they shouldn’t expect him to go on his own

So I’m going to be a bit of the devil’s advocate re: the electronic invites and say that maybe the bride & groom are very environmentally friendly?? I wouldn’t do it but some people feel that the cost and environmental “waste” of the paper stationary is too much.

That being said they still needed to get their sh*@ together and send the first e-vites so that everyone actually received them! Not to mention if I realized that the first ones went into spam I would not resort to FB to get in touch with my guests! At that point you better get paper ones, and send them out ASAP.
