Am I totally crazy or is it normal to have a separate song for the bride to walk down the aisle? FI just spoke to our church’s organ player and he is only willing to play 1 song for the grandparents, bridal party and my walk down the aisle. He is unwilling to change the music for me.
I’ve only ever been to church weddings and EVERY time the bride had separate music. The music changes, everyone stands and she walks down the aisle. WHY is my organ player refusing to do this?? This is the only thing I care about as far as the ceremony music goes. We may have to hire someone else over this seemingly stupid issue!

That’s silly!! I’ve always heard of the bride walking down the aisle to a different song. I had some issues with our organ player as well, and I just told him what I wanted. he tried to talk me into having one song (canon) for the bridal party and the bride, but I said no way jose. It’s my day – I want my own song 😉
sorry you have to deal with this!

That is strange that they will only play one song! We had a different song for my walk over the other processionals and we had a recessional song too.

That is indeed strange! I haven’t been to a million weddings, but I have always heard a different song played when the bride entered.

Are you KIDDING me?! Is there someone else at the church that you can talk to about this? The organ player can’t be totally independent, right? Someone must be able to talk sense to him! He can’t just be all dictatorial organ-player man….redonk.

That is strange! If this is someone you are paying separate from what the church is providing you then you should just let them know the schedule of music which there should be no debating on unless the song were to be inappropiate for church – (which I am sure it’s not) unless there was a contract saying they would only play one song.

Since he only wants to play 2 songs, cant he just play one song for grandparents AND bridal party then a new one for you? I cant believe he refused a song for you!

He is my church’s regular organist and we have to pay him regardless of whether or not we use him, it’s in the contract. But I’m pretty sure we can replace him. I mean I’d rather not because that’s just another thing that could go wrong, but it may come down to that.
He’s really hard to get a hold of and FI is in charge of ceremony music, but he told FI that he plays 1 processional song and 1 recessional song. That’s it. We are trying to reason with him and get him to agree to chagne the music for me but it’s so hard to get a hold of him and he give push back, I feel like he’s lazy or something!
