I think you’ll be able to do it! You’ll need to start getting vendors booked as soon as possible. Venue, caterer, photographer, band/DJ, cake, etc. These things book up quickly.

Some people knock it, but I think http://www.theknot.com/ has a good checklist. Just type in your wedding date and voila!

I’ve been planning for 8 months so I’ve got all my vendors booked, attire more or less done, invitations ordered and honeymoon booked. We’re really just working on the smaller details now (decorations, song selections, rehearsal dinner).

Good luck!

You’ll be fine, I just started planning the past 2 weeks and am not having any problems!  I think as long as you figure it out by the end of the month you’ll be in great shape.  Good luck!! =)

Honestly, I think you’ll be fine. I got engaged in Feb. and I started actually planning in March. I got everything picked out & booked in a month. And I really wasn’t stressed out through that process. If you’re a worrier, I would defintiely get started looking at a venue now though, that way, less worrrying 🙂 I used the knot & weddingwire to find vendors with reviews near me. With e-mail, all the vendors got back to me in a day or less, so everything moved fast!

I feel a little behind as well, in a way.  But we have our clothing, location, reception and cake details pretty well lined up.  Still working on music, photography, flowers.  And the honeymoon!  OMG, it amazes me that the places we’re looking at (ideal location beach houses) are getting booked up so quickly so fast.  I’m a little nervous we’ll miss getting something we really want by waiting too late.  Money isn’t an issue, really, it’s just been time.  So far we’ve been keeping to our (very low) budget so that part has been good.  I also still have to have my dress altered.  But, of course, I want to lose a little weight before alterations even though the dress fits perfectly right now, couldn’t thinner always be better?  LOL.  Anyway, I almost will be glad when all of this planning and scheduling stuff is over.  I’m almost so over it!  I haven’t sent out invitations yet but have purchased a DIY kit for them and will send out around 60 days prior or so.

I guess I’ll just have to keep having faith that everything will work out and fall into place.  I can’t even complain that FI and everyone involved haven’t been helpful, because they have.  The major issue I have is me, with me.  Frown

You should be fine! I would probably book a venue soon tho, flowers, cake, photog you have a bit more time for.

I have everything book but flowers, but I’ve been engaged for over a year now. And I’m a worrier! I’m freaking out that my invites aren’t done and sent…but I know I have soo much time.

My sister and my mother put together her wedding in three months! And it was a lovely, wonderful wedding! Just make sure you’re organized and start checking those things off your list!

Good luck!! Keep us updated!

I agree I think you can do it.  I started planning Jan 2012 for my Sept 8th wedding.  And BFF got engaged June 2011 and got married 4 months later in Oct 2011 so it is dooable.  Good luck!

You can do it, just book as many of the vendors as soon as possible.  You might not be able to be as picky as you wanted.  It took me 3 months to find an officiant, for example, because I specifically wanted a secular male officiant in a city FULL of weddings in September.  As a previous bee said, I really like theknot.com wedding checklist.

all my wedding plans got turned upside down about a month ago and had to start over from scratch and i have most of it figured out all over but a lot of the stuff i can’t do until the last 2 months, but mine is pretty casual and diy… LOTS OF DIY
