I was recently engaged and my fiance and I have started the process of picking a wedding date. I am having a hard time deciding based on weather…I hate being hot, but he would prefer to get married in the summer so we don’t have to wait as long. I have a rental lease that ends in the beginning of September, so we are throwing around the idea of either Sept or Oct so that we aren’t double paying on rent. I was originally thinking 10/5/13 because I figured it would be a little cooler and it would be pretty since the leaves are beginning to change colors, but now I am thinking 9/1/13. I have looked online at average temps in those months, but I wanted to see what other opinions were on specific dates. Does anyone have any insight on one of those dates versus the other? Thanks!

Oct would be much cooler then Sept especially 9/1 since that is probably Labor Day weekend and usually still pretty hot. End of Sept will start getting cooler. Personally between the 2 dates I would choose Oct over Sept because of the weather. Good luck! Definitely still a lot of places available in Charlotte when I was helping my friend a month ago planning her wedding for 9/21.

If everything will be inside early September will be fine. For outdoor events I suggest mid to late October because Charlotte is just too danged hot in early September.
I had to leave that place because of the heat and humidity. LOL

I would go with the beginning of October. The temps are usually in the upper 70s, which is perfect to me!

You’re probably going to get nicer, milder weather in October. Even early November can be nice – and it’s the driest month of the year. I know that’s later than the dates you’d mentioned, so check with your leasing office. They may be willing to let you go month-to-month as long as you give them plenty of notice (people get married all the time, so they’re used to this sort of thing). Regardless, make sure that if you’re planning an outdoor ceremony you’ve got a solid, workable backup plan in case the weather is drizzly, freezing, or otherwise nasty.

August-September is really rainy or was this past year. October is dry, and chilly.
