BUT SEPTEMBER 12TH WAS!!!
Alright so here’s how this proposal went down:
We left for San Francisco, we spent about 3 hrs in the car in traffic, then everyone else in San Francisco ALSO thought it would be a great day to go to Golden Gate Park. So we went to land’s end, actually having some sunshine! Then it was just people everywhere trying to get around in The City. *San Fran. great city not so fun to drive in* So we check into the hotel, we’re on the 27th floor (top) with balcony, great view of of the bay and Coit Tower, and we hear the passionate love making of our neighbors through the wall! and I’m not talking about some banging against the walls, it’s like full on porn screaminng! So b/f is upset that this is going on, and that we are actually hearing this… so we ask about switching rooms…but it’s on the 22nd floor and no balcony. So we decide on staying in the balcony room with our non discrete neighbors. We get ready for dinner… and I’m looking at b/f’s pants for any indication of a box shape.. none… So I’m like great I was dead wrong he was going to propose. I’m a little disappointed but I’m like we’re at a great hotel I’m going to enjoy this. So we go to a really nice dinner… and I get a crazy migrane…and now I’m feeling badly because I don’t want to ruin our night, I know b/f brough wine to have on the balcony… and I had such a bad headache all I wanted to do was sleep. So we enjoyed the view, got a little chilly, watched TV and went to bed.
THEN THERE WAS TODAY! We get up, get our continental breakfast and bring it up stairs to have on the balcony. Wonderful! After breakfast, I say ok, we need to check out ..I’m going to take a shower and get ready. He says “no wait, lets enjoy this view and get our moneys worth.” So I’m like ok. After a few minutes of akward conversation, I’m like “oh crap this is it” And he totally gets on one knee and propses. I’m getting all teary and here were are engaged! come to find out, he was carrying the ring all day with him yesterday in a small envelope so it was less visible. He was really upset, but by last night, he was convinced Sept. 11th just wasn’t right. And it wasn’t. Sept. 12th was so much better.
So for today, we enjoyed each other’s company. We walked across the Golden Gate, and went to the Embarracadero. My favorite quote from him today at lunch, “Want to go outside and put your ring in the sun so we can watch it sparkle?” He was so excited to give it to me, and just holds my hand to see how it looks! I can’t wait to be Future Mr. Diverboy!!!!!
Thanks bees for all your waiting support this last year!
