Hey!  How far are you in the planning?  We have a place and um, that's about it!  We got a package thingie, so we don't have to choose vendors, and I have my dress.  The wedding party knows who they are, and my MOH has her dress.  What are your colors?

@heathaah: I'm embarrassed to say that I'm not as far as you are and that's scary because 8 months and 3 weeks sounds so close when I got engaged last year!  We have our wedding party, church, reception, and photographer decided, but that's about it.  I think I know what dress I want, but am too chicken to buy it September 12, 2009 : wedding Icon Redface .  Since sunflowers are in peak season, we're using sunflowers for center pieces.  Thus, our colors are yellow, blue, and kelly green.  The FI and I decided just the other night that we need to get in gear with the planning after new years'.

Hi!  I am also a date twin.

We will have 2 wedding ceremonies - 9/12 and 9/19.  I have a special place in my heart for the first ceremony because I consider it "my ceremony."  We are marrying on the beach and I already have my dress.  We plan to use citrus/burnt orange as the main colors.  We will have a small group attend the ceremony and a restaurant reception.  I can't wait!

hey caliwed I saw your engagement date on your profile. we are not only bridal month twins but also engagement twins. We got engaged July 30th (on my birthday no less!) during our mini get a way to DC.

Call me the anal bride but we have our venue, photographer, florist, planner, and videographer. We have been planning since April/May which explains while we are so far along, however, we were not official till July.

Our colors are chocolate brown, pink, and ivory and we are planning a small brunch for 50 of our closest friends and family. We are wrking with a graphic designer now on our Save the Dates.  My dress from Priscilla of Boston has already come in and I went to look at it this past weekend and can't be more thrilled.

It seems so far off but I know it will be here before you know it.

Hey Ladies, I have a date, and it's yours too! We finally booked the hotel where we have been hoping to have our ceremony and reception. It's a pretty swank boutique hotel in an old factory. It feels so good to finally have an answer to "so do you have a date yet!?"

    And another one!

We just got started (officially) but we planned out a lot of the fun stuff already.  We don't have any vendors booked, but the ceremony/reception will be at my dad's farm and my mom will be growing the flowers so that helps.  Unfortunately, I just found out that an old photographer friend of mine who I was hoping to hire has already been booked!

we just decided to change our date to 9-12-09.  Originally we were planning to have a family ceremony in Vegas on 9-9-09 and then a party in town on 9-12-09.  Yesterday we decided to cut out the ceremony in Vegas and do everything on 9-12-09 at my parent's house.

@ <span class="postby"> FMH we are also having sunflowers (LOTS of sunflowers) with the main color being blue with some green accents.

I would love hear some of your ideas for this color/flower scheme because everything I find seems very "country" and I want it a little more classic.

    @Amber1279
Hmm...we are going with a more rustic "country" feel to our wedding because honestly, we're just two hicks getting married , so I had to put on my “classic” thinking cap.

With that said, I think more classic look can be done with sunflowers.  What I first thought of is that you could use black, but now I remember that you're using blue, but I think that blue could be substituted.  To me, blue and yellow seem kind of “preppy” when paired together.  I'm thinking something like Miss. Piglet’s STD’s, but instead of lotus flowers, you could use sunflowers with flourishes instead of vines.  I think you could also go classic with lots of crisp white, i.e. white tablecloths, napkins etc.

Hope that this helps and good luck with the planning!

Hiya Date Twins! wow i feel awful now that i see so many are so far ahead of me! I just ordered my dress and expect it in July! yikes! not much time for alterations and other disasters! I also have the church and the reception area but i'm having such a hard time finding a photog in my area! i haven't fallen in love with anyone's work yet! haven't started shopping for videog's either...or a dj & a band! I don't even have the color scheme i want yet!  thankfully i have aunties who do floral work so i have one less thing to worry about!  good luck everyone!

Hi! I'm also a date twin :) I always thought I would be an October bride (my fav. month), but when I went to investigate reception locations, the one my fiance and I wanted had been booked 18  months in advance for every Saturday in October and every Saturday except the 12 in September!

I am starting to love the idea of September, though. It's really pretty in most places at that time, and it's far enough away from the big winter holidays that you can still do something fun for your anniversary without cutting into holiday budgets.

So far, because I'm getting married in what is apparently a competitive place for brides (again: 18 months??), I've booked the caterer, florist, photographer, church, reception site, and bought a dress (sample sale), told bridesmaids which dress to buy and am sending out save the dates this month, because my family lives in Michigan, his lives in Kentucky, and we live in California. The wedding will be in Kentucky, though.  Haven't done much with music or invitations yet.

That's pretty much how we picked our date too.  We chose a place, then took the one available date!  We are about to order our STDs too.

We are doing magnets.  Our first date was to the science museam where they had a butterly garden.  Although there is no theme of butterflies for the wedding, we decided the STDs should have butterflies on them.  They are the first real thing we have done for the wedding, so it should relate to our first date!

A lot of people put pictures on the magnets, but I don't like the idea of 125 people having a picture of me on their fridge!

Yay! We just picked out date! We've got the ceremony/reception sites (same place). I've got my dress ordered. The flower girl dresses have been purchased. Working on the photographer. I'm doing daisies and yellow and pink are our colors. MOH and I are going shopping soon. Only having one attendant each. Scary to think it's only 7 months away. Seems so soon and yet far away at the same time.

Hello, hello! I'm a September 12th bride also! How exciting! Things are going along really well. My dress just came in! And we have the church booked, the reception site deposit in, our DJ, photographer, florist, and baker are done. Now, we're working on all the odds and ends. I'm an event coordinator in my 9-5, so I like to get things done!

Yay!! I just joined here now and this is my date too!! Day after my bday actually! Which I didn't know how I felt about that but hey, it makes for a great weekend or 2 days at least every year right?! and the weather (living in New England I should SSSH) is usually awesome, so let's pray that is what I get also.

What colors are you gals all going with? I think I am pretty set with Alfred Angelo's spice color as I love it...but trying to figure out what invites to match it uh...? That is hard. that's how I got looking around on here and figured I should join with all you ladies! September 12, 2009 : wedding Icon Biggrin

I have no dress!  AHHHHH!  I went to try it on and it was way too big!  The new one should be here on time.  Um, should I have the JoP by now?   We havent looked at flowers or selected food!  I am such a procrastinator!  Does anyone else feel so behind?

We're getting married on September 12, 2009!  Only four months away--how exciting!  All of our vendors have been selected--now it's just working out the details! Even though it is technically still summer, we are having a fall theme. Our colors are chocolate and ivory with fall color accents in our decorations and flowers.  We sent the save-the-dates out in February (which I made myself) and ordered invitations a couple weeks ago. I'm starting to work on my centerpieces now.  I'm so glad that I got all the major stuff out of the way early on so that now I can relax and just choose the fun stuff.  We booked most of our vendors by January and so many of them were almost booked solid for the rest of the year, and we just got really lucky! Good luck to all of my date twins!

I still have to figure out centerpieces and flowers. What do you have left to do?
