-We already sent out our STD's (ALL of our guests will be coming from out of town) and the invites won't be sent out until 2 months before the wedding. If none of your guests are coming from out of town, you could get away with sending out the invites closer to 6 weeks before the wedding and no later than 6 months for the STD's.
Everyone of my guests is coming from out of town, too....including US. hehe. But, we're waiting until right after the holidays, mainly because I don't want them getting mixed up with holiday cards and tossed out and also because most of the airlines still won't let my guests purchase plane tickets for September 18th yet, so it wouldn't do them any good to get it now.
We sent our save the dates out in October! But it is pretty much a destination wedding, and we wanted everyone to have plenty of warning. Invitations we'll send 10 weeks out from the wedding, which is a bit early, but we have to assume people will know if they've booked a flight by then!
we are doing Save the Dates after the holidays. We are getting married about 2 hours away from most of our guests. I would have sent them in early December except that I didn't want them to get mixed in with all the holiday cards and then I decided I wanted winter e-pics so we'll wait until after those.
For a wedding where people won't have to travel too far (1-2 hrs MAX) when would you suggest is the ideal (aka. latest) time frame for sending out STDs?
We aren't doing STD's - but we plan on mailing our invites in July.
I'm sending our out in January - we have a lot of OOT guests though.
i'm debating whether or not to send out STD's... most of our guests will be in town or only 1-2 hours away.
i am planning on sending out invites by late june.
