Although my SO hasn’t officially proposed, we’ve started planning! Signing the contract for the ceremony/reception venue and turning in the deposit this week! The venue is also the caterer, so that is covered. I’m also working on Save-the-Dates, our wedding website (needed for our domestic destination wedding), and we have a final guest list put together. My next steps are setting up a block of rooms and getting on engagement photos (while trying to book the photographer – long story). I’ll also be thinking about the florist soon, and I’ll be putting my SO on speaker duty so we can play Spotify at the reception. I’m trying to get an idea of what I should have done sooner than later – so let’s hear from you!
Less than a year out – what do you have planned/done for the big day so far?

- Wedding: September 2017 - Ceremony and Reception: Historic mansion on the water
STDs (but not yet sent)
Hotel room blocks
I am quite happy where I am in the planning. My WP is keeping me on schedule although I am on it myself. While working on the above I am also gathering ideas for my cake, makeup/hair looks, thinking about my guest list, booking the wedding night suite, song lists, and BP gifts. Really I am just working on everything at the same time. LOL!

Um…. Let’s see:
STD sent out (95% of guests, including us are traveling)
Room blocks (but I need to follow up)
Bridesmaids and Groomsmen notified
Bridesmaids dress styles and color (they can pick out their own dresses as long as it falls in guideline)
Theme of wedding
And I’m starting on the menu and decorations. It’s going to be a DiY. 🙂

It sounds like I’m on the right track! We have our colors/theme picked out. The only thing it seems that I’ll be behind on is my dress and the BM dresses. I won’t be doing that until the last week of December, since my sister is visiting at that time.
As soon as SO proposes (likely this month), we’ll order and send out Save-the-dates,as 100% of our guest list is traveling, including us.

- Wedding: September 2015 - Contemporary Art Center of Peoria
Done: venue, colors/scheme, my dress, bridesmaid’s dresses
In Progress: photographer, caterer, videographer, linens/centerpieces, invites/STDs, calligraphy, flowers
I feel okay-ish. Some days I feel great, like I’ve done so much. Other days I feel like I haven’t done jack sh*t. FI says it’s a good middle point. We haven’t fallen behind, but we need to keep checkin’ things off to stay on track.
I’m worried about the holidays! I think it’s really going to put me behind. I need to get ahead on planning so I can not worry about wedding during thanksgiving & christmas..

I’m feeling really good about my planning so far! We had our engagement pics done on Monday and I’m soooo excited for things to progress now!!

Update! Officially have room blocks, save-the-dates are on their way to me, and we’ve contacted a few photographers! Hopefully, we’ll have a photographer by the end of this week/early next week so I can start contacting florists.
As soon as SO officially proposes (possibly any day now… custom-made rings. pfft 😉 ), we’ll send the save-the-dates, officially ask our bridal party to be part of our big day, and choose/ask someone to get officiated/officiate our wedding!
Hopefully my SO has the engagement photos set up. He asked me the other day if I would just want to do them in the Spring, but the Spring is so gross here. We’ll see!

I was just going to figure out decor as I go… but I’ve been putting it off until I have all the big things booked.

Done: Found my future husband In progress: Everything else, aahhh!!
I feel so behind! We’ve just started planning, but we really want september 2015 so now we’re looking at venues and churches. I’m a little stressed out! But as soon as those two are booked (and we have a photographer), I’m sure planning will go from stressful to fun!
My family and FH even thought it was wayyy to early to start planning now. Haha.

Cookiie: At least you know what you need to do first! My SO and I started planning, and he hasn’t proposed yet… but we’re both on board for planning before the proposal because we already had a date and venue picked out, and we didn’t want to lose out on either!
futuremrsJR: You’re not behind at all! I can’t wait to finally formally ask my bridesmaids and send out save the dates! AHHH!! I’m getting anxious! My save the dates should be getting sent out in the next week or two 🙁
