Hi there! Who else is a Sept 24th bride out there?
What things have you taken into consideration when planning based on the date?
Are you doing outdoor or indoor wedding or reception? (Ours is indoor)
Where is your wedding (mine is in Michigan)?
Hiya,
UK bride over here!
Our main consideratio with the date is that hopefully september wont be too cold, i want a winterish wedding, but still fairly warm.
It will probably be indoors as i dont think our budget will stretch to a marquee, they are expensive over here!!!
And other considerations based on dates - My BMs will be wearing long dresses!
still searching for venues, we have a friend who is a photographer, we have a friend who is a singer who we would like to sing before the meal. my FI is a lighting engineer so he will sort all of the pretty lights for the dancing.
just having fun planning and dreaming at the min!
Hi!
I am getting married outside in Vermont! I have always wanted a fall wedding, but I am also hoping it won't be too cold. I have done a lot of thinking (and reading weddingbee!) and we have our venue. But I haven't really gotten anything else done yet! :)
Hi September 24, 2011 here too! We have picked our venue (A BARN), booked our caterer, and I have my dress. That's about it for a while though!
hi! my first post ever :)
September 24th here too. Getting married on Cape Cod (MA). Hoping for sunny and warm but not too hot! We have booked our church and reception, band, and are close to booking a photographer. Now i'm just enjoying the boards, websites, magazines trying to get ideas for dresses and decorations. Very excited! Happy there are some ladies on here that have the same timeline as me. :)
We were wavering between the 17th and the 24th for awhile and just settled on the 24th. I'm so excited - I hope it's a beautiful fall day too! We've booked our venue (it's a barn!) and that's about it so far.
September 24, 2011 here! Our plans have been all over the place... coastal NC, Raleigh, Massachusetts, DW in the Dominican Republic, Raleigh and back to our original choice of coastal NC. We will be having it at the Southport Community Center which is right on the Cape Fear River near the Sea.. Can't wait!!
Finally a date.. after a failed feb 2010 and feb 2011 wedding we are now planning for sep 24 2011! and its not going to change!! I cant wait..
I'm doing September 24th too! I'm soo excited! We just got the date last week when we booked our venue (an Art Deco theatre - The Redmoor). I can't wait!
When are you all going to start looking at dresses? I don't know when to start! I want to lose about 20lbs, but I don't want to start looking too late... any ideas?
I am getting married 9/24/11 in Tampa, FL. I've been planning forever and everything is picked out. All we have to do is order everything and get details in place. I want to los a couple of pound before I go and buy my dress so I am waiting until January. I am so excited....
I am getting married on this day too! We are very excited..we just booked our reception hall and church tihs week. I bought my dress a couple weeks ago, I know it's early but I found the perfect dress and it was such a great deal I would have been crazy to pass it up.
I can't wait :)
I told FI we had to pick an even-numbered date, because I have a weird thing about odd numbers. Turns out, 24 is my favorite number and it's a Saturday in 2011! :)
@jo.lee -- my favorite number is 42! Obviously, there isn't a 42nd of the month... so the 24th works perfectly! 42 - it's a completely ordinary number, a number not just divisible by two but also six and seven. In fact it's the sort of number that you could without any fear introduce to your parents' Ha. I love Douglas Adams! Google the following "answer to life, the universe and everything" --- and you get 42.
We're also getting married on September 24th, 2011. :) Nice to see some other people are pumped about the date.
So far we have the venue, a big log cabin close to the spot where we camp all the time, photographer, officiant, wedding party selected, and some decorations (plus loads of ideas).
Going dress shopping with my mom and sister in November. :)
Also working on the caterer now (things book fast) but haven't made an ultimate decision yet.
@canadianbacon: Wow! You're making some real progress! I'm worried about the dress shopping...ugh! We've got the venue (onsite catering), photographer, planner and we're booking our florist next week! We...may...have an officiate...but I haven't met him yet!
And yes...tons of ideas! I'm just chomping at the bit to get started on some DIY wedding crafts this winter!!
I'm a September 24th bride too! Just a few days away from the one-year marker - exciting! :) We're getting married at a golf club in a suburb of Chicago. The ceremony will be outdoors, so I'm hoping for sunny, warmish weather, and the reception will be inside.
We have our wedding party in place and have booked our venue, and are close to booking a photographer after we meet with her in a couple weeks. Other than that, I'm taking a little break so we can move cross-country from Pennsylvania to Chicago next week... too much to plan at the same time!
Next on my list is to book an officiant...
I just saw this post - I am a September 24th bride too! *Cheers* to all my date twins!
The planning has halted a little for me because I already got the venue, food, dress, photographer, and guest list picked out. I am looking at STD cards and going to contact a few other vendors.
Where are all the Sept 24th 2011 brides at in the planning process?

Sept 24th too! I just started planning,
I wanted a fall wedding, there are so many things you can do with a fall theme! Anyone else including pumpkins some how??
Also a September 24, 2011 bride! FI and I decided on an upstate NY wedding on the small side (50-75 guests). We will marry in his childhood church and have the reception at the Elks club (no other options within 30 minutes of the church). So my biggest job with the wedding is turning the Elks club into a beautiful reception venue! I'm hoping to glean inspiration from the bees!
Where are you getting married? Sounds beautiful! Hope its near philly.....
Woo hoo! I'm a Sept. 24th bride, too! We're having an outdoor ceremony and the reception on the terrace of an old manor house in Michigan. I can't wait to see how the colors look in the fall. We've put down a deposit on almost all of our vendors (photographer, DJ, baker, florist, bartender, officiant). It's amazing how quickly things fill up. Props to the ladies who get married in only a few short months.
Has anyone here decided about invitations yet? We're trying to figure out when to send them.
Sept 24 bride here! I wanted Oct but the church only had this date, but since it was only a week away from my goal date, I gladly took it! I think it will be perfect! A fall wedding, 1 day after it is officially fall, but with nice end-of-summer weather. PERFECT!
Sept 24th bride.
Having an outdoor ceremony at an amphitheater on the harbor. Then going across the harbor to a yacht club for an outdoor/tent/indoor reception.

@KatNYC2011: Aw I bet thats going to be beautiful! Wera also having ours outside! So ecited!
