shameless bump:)
would just love to hear from any september 2012 brides!
Mine is earlier september, but we are doing a vintage-ish outdoor wedding too! Our colors are cobalt blue and yellow - we'll be repurposing a lot of cobalt wine bottles as vases :)
Your wedding colors and theme sounds lovely, as does the location! We both really wish we had someone with land in our families that we could use for the wedding, but we found the next best thing - an outdoor venue with great food! I absolutely love the bonfire idea.
@sarahbabs: i looove the wine bottles as vases! that is so cute:) details like that make a wedding memorable.
yeah. all of his people are kinda country folk. haha. so we wanted to have it somewhere where everyone will feel comfortable and be able to get loud and rowdy as hell. hahaha.
I am getting married Sept 29, 2012 in South Bend, Indiana!
We are doing the Alfred Sung "Barcelona" color dresses for the bridesmaids. I am letting them pic there own top but the bottom of the dress are identical.

We are using a traditional autumn pallete with a modern twist by adding the celedon green and some bronze or champagne color. The red will match the dresses better but this is the inspiration for my bouquet.

Our venue is a old night club that got renovated into a wedding hall awhile back. It is very intimate, which was important for us since we are only having 150 -175 people.
I am having a hard time deciding on centerpieces and how I am going to carry my modern/fall theme thoughout the recpetion but I have been dowloading pictures like crazy! I know I want to incorporate a lantern somehow but use the colors in my scheme versus the white.

I put a deposit down on my dress yesterday but am having second thoughts. I went dress shopping with my sister when I visited her in Utah and there was a dress that made her cry. My mom didn't care for it when she saw it in the pictures. I went with my mom back in South Bend and we found a dress that made her cry. I had tried on some that I liked with a bridesmaid but everyone else has said they think they are "too typical" and don't suit my personality. I feel like I'm trying to juggle everyone expectations... so I'm putting it on the back burner right now.
We have selected our videographer, DJ, venue, rehearsal site and cateror. We blocked hotel rooms and I am working on our webite. We are sending save the dates in the next two weeks. Still have a lot of decisions to make but feel I have a good start with more than a year to go.
I am also getting hitched on sept 29, 2012!
We are having an outdoor ceremony, in the country, with a potluck and bonfire at night. For some, it will be a weekend long camping trip.
Our colors are burgandy, navy blue and forest green.
We are having a wiccan asatru handfasting and there will be a blood oathing. We are also planning on having live steel battles.
How's that for interesting?

@VikingWitch: I am so unbelievably jealous of you. Live steel battles? That is insane!
I'm sneaking the hand fasting into my ceremony. Haha. If his small town friends knew where it came from, they'd probably flip. Not that they probably won't find it strange anyway. Haha.
How are you doing the blood oathing?
me too!!! (obviously...)
We're getting married in Wilmington, DE in the ballroom at a country club. It's a beautiful room with hardwood floors, lots of windows and tall ceilings. Very classic.
I'm having difficulty with the color scheme. For ages and ages (since my teens!) I always wanted my maids to wear dark purple. Once I started looking for dresses I also ended up liking a pinky-purple wine/sangria sort of color. I haven't decided on the maid's dresses yet (that's another story...), but I went for my 1st floral appointment this weekend and ended up confused!
I thought a nice subdued palate of very very dark purple and white and touches of soft greenery would be nice- but now I don't know :(
I might post pictures of things when I get home... I could certainly use some opinions!
But so far I have: Church, Venue/catering, Photog, my dress!
yes! definitely post some pictures when you get home. advice is what we're here for:)
i'm getting married the 29th too even though my name doesn't say so (not sure how to fix that?)
we're getting married in New Hampshire and having a country/classic wedding... classic for my parents who are helping us pay, country for us! :)
So far we have the church, venue, dress, photographer, and flowers...my next big task is figuring out bridesmaid dresses and finding a good bakery for our wedding pies! :)
Yay, I'm September 29th!
We aren't really having a theme. We are getting married at an old gold coast mansion, which is an architectually interesting venue. We want to keep it simple to let it speak for itself. Part of the grounds of our venue has a planetarium, so we will be incorporating that a bit into the decor.
Our bridesmaids will be in coral (each choosing their own above the knee dress), and our groomsmen (and FI) will be in a grey suit with a coral tie.I know coral is not typically an "almost fall weather" color, but I think it echoes the colors of the venue.
This is a photo of the courtyard which is where the cocktail hour will be taking place. The reception will be in a big beautiful tent right outside the courtyard overlooking the Long Island Sound.

The reception will be tented (I'm repeating myself!) and everything in the tent will be white- all of the linens, plates, flowers, etc. We are looking into a "starry sky" type lighting system for the ceiling. Here is the tent:

We are planning on having the bridal party surround us(so that the cutting is not as easily visable to some of the guests) cutting our "venus mounds" and then clasping hands, before the handfasting ties go on. The wording is not complete yet. I am writing the entire ceremony(with some help from a few friends).
My man is part of a viking recon group and also has friends who are part of other reenactment groups that know how to fight with live steel. I don't want to say too much more, cause I have bride-to-be friends who frequient boards like these and I want them to be surprised.
: )
Yay for 9-29-12! We are also doing a "rustic elegance" theme at the family farm, but so far our guests list is up to 450!
Our colors are copper, sage green, ivory/champange and black. The bridesmaids are all picking their own black dress, any length. Decor is old copper buckets with homemade wine and wild flowers with TONS of white twinkle lights and candles.
Food is goinf to be pork, and squash...that's all we figured out yet.
As far as planning, we have the caterer, DJ, photog, transportation, church, photo booth, dress, DOC. Flowers are my next big step...I am going fake for the people, but maybe real for the centerpieces? Maybe no flowers and just candle and wine? Any suggestions?
Hey there fellow Septemeber 29, 2012 bees! Less than a year away now!
My FI and I are from the South (me, Louisiana, him Arkansas), so we are so excited to be having a Southern style wedding in New Orleans. We picked the Southern Oaks Plantation. The ceremony will be on the front lawn under a lawn under a huge Oak tree and the reception will be inside the plantation in their grand ballroom.

I thought I was super on top of things and everyone freaks out when I tell them what I have done, but it's mainly because I have a trial starting next week and I won't even be able to think wedding for a couple of months. So far we have: venue/ceremony (which includes catering, DJ, and some flowers), officiant, wedding dress, photographer, wedding cake, engagement pictures.
We still need: so much! but what comes to mind is: lodging, honeymoon, florist, invites, save the dates, decorations, favors, tuxes, transportation, and we have to plan the rehearsal dinner. Phew. If anyone has any advice for those, or where to have a rehearsal dinner in New Orleans, let me know!
I'm planning to go with a mardi gras theme and have the BM's wear dark purple dresses and incorporate the green and yellow into flowers, decorations, etc, but I'm still working on that and am struggling with keeping it looking classy and not cheesy Mardi Gras. Sadly, I'm planning this all the way from San Francisco and have zero time, so no real time for a lot of DIY :(
Good Luck to everyone in their planning! we're looking forward to our engagement party this weekend (also planned by us:) !
Nothing like a Southern plantation wedding! I can't wait to see pictures (eventually!). Enjoy your engagement party!
for my centerpieces I am going totaly cheap and simple.
- I am gathering all the bright red fall leaves I can find now, and pressing them flat.
- I am going to buy a bunch of Balls dimond cut style mason jars and white votive candles to go inside them.
- I will arrange a few(4-5) leaves on the table, overlapping and put the mason jar in the center of them.
-Voila! Simple, effective, and most importantly-Cheap!
: )
I'm September 29th too! We're getting married in my hometown- which is super tiny and rural. The church we're getting married in though is 250 years old and amazing.

This is another wedding at my church.
The reception is in a big chruch hall (not my first choice...but fit the budget!)- so we're trying to do a lot of details to make it not feel so much like a giant reception hall. Our colors are eggplant puprle, champagne and yellow- with the main flowers being sunflowers! Don't want to make it too country- but just want a fun, casual feel with good food (my dad is providing the caterer all his own recipes and we're doing a hog roast) and good music (a live band).
We're getting married the 29th also!
Our theme is also a rustic elegance. I'm gathering mason jars, antiques, etc.. We're getting married outdoors under a 1000 year old oak tree. Our colors are navy blue, brown, and ivory.
We have not dicussed the menu with our venue but we're most certainly aiming for BBQ.
I can officially say I'm a September 29th bee! Finally got the go-ahead from our church about the date. Can finally book the venue. Our venue will be at an outdoor Golf Club Patio. I guess our theme would just be classified as "casual". We will be having Pizza,Pasta and Salad and buckets of beer for our centerpieces. I know some people will say its redneck or ghetto or tacky or whatever. I don't care. Its what we want and what we think most of our guests will enjoy and I can't wait!!! The views are gorgeous from the patio. the golf course greens along with the beautiful Sandia Mountain Range...
Hi. me too.... We're getting married in NYC onboard the Yacht Star of America - ceremony onboard during the sunset, then continuing the night cruising around Manhattan skyline.
Black tie... and also a FULL MOON ... how lucky were we to get that!!! I read that on another post, and immediately had to check our date and full moon is officially on 30 SEP 2012, but that is close enuf
Quickie ceremony, so we can get on to lots of partying.
Colors - just finalized to eggplant and fuchsia (meaning... dark purple and hot pink).
I'm super excited, this is my 2nd go... but my first one was a very practical immediate family only backyard wedding... no special dress etc.
NOW, I'm going all out with all the bridal pampering and shopping!!!

We're getting married (September 29th) on the beach in Miami, Fl at 9:00 in the morning (I'm a morning person) and we are having our reception in our hometown. My colors are orange and fushia (I could careless about the colors of the season, it's what I love) and are having a romantic beach theme reception as soon as I find a venue. We have the beach theme wedding and reception and the honeymoon will be a caribbean cruise after hurricane season. I really wanted a brunch reception or a reception with close friends and family but my family is too large and I would never hear the end of it.

Getting married in Utica/Shelby MI on september 29th. My colors are Navy and Kelly Green. My FI and I are trying to do something fun and "different" without being too much so. We're having about 200-225 at the wedding, which is at a gorgeous banquet hall. :)
Yay 9/29 brides!
I am getting married in Upstate NY in the fingerlakes at an old Castle turned into a reresort:

We are also going for a rustic but glam theme, kind of whimsical castle meets laid back lake life. Our main color is a berry hue or sangria as I like to call it. WE are doing lots of white birch and candle and large bloom flowers like dhalias and old garden rosed mixed with moss and greenery as well as succulents. My gilrs are in long flowy chiffon gowns in a raspberry color, and the men will be in Slate gray tuxes. It's fairly large wedding at 250+ people. FI is making all the birch candle holders and vases himself in his dads woodshop barn with wood we cut down on a friends' property here localy. The best part is that we are trading the birch to our florist after the wedding in exchange for her services. (we'll keep a little but he's making 500 candle holders so I'll be glad not to hae to store that)
Another 9-29 bride here!
Our wedding is quickly getting out of hand. We're marrying here in my hometown (where we live) which is a beach/resort town but we are NOT having a beach wedding. Colors are purple/gold, and very elegant. We're expecting around 300. Ceremony at a private residence overlooking the water, and reception at an open air pavilion at our marina & yacht club. As a wedding photographer myself, I feel very blessed to have so many of my fellow vendors contributing and going above and beyond for my wedding.
We're getting married on September 29, 2012 also!
The ceremony will be at Rippavilla Plantation, just outside of Nashville, TN.
We are doing a black & white damask color scheme with hot pink accents. The bridesmaids will wear black dresses and carry hot pink roses. My fiance grew up in Nashville and I'm from Michigan. Most of our guests will be traveling from Michigan and Indiana so we're going to do a southern themed buffet for dinner. We're also making out of town bags for our guests that will have some Tennessee treats inside as well as a note from us, welcoming them to our state and thanking them for traveling to celebrate with us on our big day.
I am really excited!!
Yet another September 29th bride! My fiance and his family and a bunch of our friends from Australia are coming out to California for our wedding. We are getting married in our family friends' backyard with a sweeping view of the Monterey Bay behind us. We're doing burlap, bbq, and billy buttons. The colors are navy, bright yellow, and tan.
I'm excited to be getting married after 7 years of dating/engagement and excited to show my fiance's family and our friends all around the great place I grew up in!
Septmeber 29th Bride here!! I love all the pictures!! Where I live there isn't much scenery and it seems boring to me! It's flat and dry here...anyways my colors are purple, black and ivory. I am going for the Romantic theme (although I'm not too sure about theme yet I guess. I'm not very creative.) My FI's aunt owns a Mexican restaurant so we are doing mexican food, haven't finalized the menu yet.
We're getting hitched on Sept. 29 at The Condor's Nest Ranch in Pala, CA! Planning all the way from Seattle so it's been interesting, but fun! Love this place b/c you can stay at the house the night of the wedding. Theme is fall feast with long tables, lanterns, garland, and a jazz band. Woo hoo!

Woooo! other september 29th brides
The ceremony will be in the front yard of my fiance and my new house and the reception will be in the back yard (2 acres). my mama and i are making the food (for 100 people) but no worries my mama and i worked together for quite a few years at a catering company and restaurant so we've definately done this before. My cousin is making the cake (she's done wedding cakes before so no worries on that either) Our colors are aqua and red with gray scale accents. Our theme is vintage/ country disney. all of the decor will be very vintage looking with some subtle touches of disney like teacups on the tables as candles holders, the table names will be disney couples (excluding princesses bc they're a bit cliche), and my hair is VERY long and blonde so everyone always associates it with rapunzel and just coincendently my hair style will be centered around a cascading french braid.
we went with disney bc that's where Jamie, my fiance proposed, on main street right in front of the castle. (it was my first time ever being in disney) and you can probably guess where we're taking our honeymoon... that's right disney.
our wedding will be pretty casual and there will be ALOT OF DIY
@sunshine_kar: My theme is also rustic country. I have some mason jars and I am doing the different centerpeice vases at each table. I also found some small old oil lamps I thought would be really neat at some tables!!! If you have any ideas you want to share let me know! I love the country ideas!! :)

Anyone else getting married 9/29/2012?
What's your theme, colors, etc?
I wanna hear all the details!
We're doing a rustic/country-ish theme. Mason jars, lots of candles, pulled pork sandwiches, and s'mores:)
Colors probably along the lines of burgundy, champagne and touches of blush pink.
Then we're having everybody stay and camp out with a bonfire. His parents acreage that we're having it on is about 2 hours from town, so we don't want anyone to have to drive home.
And don't forget the apple pie "moonshine"!
