    Hi All,

Im just wondering what is on all those 3.9.11 (or 9.3.11 depending on your persuasion!)brides are up to?

    So far we have completed:

    - Choosing bridal party and officially asking them!

    - Engagement Party

    - Booking our church

    - Booking our reception venue (which includes catering and alcohol)

But now I am working on this list:

    - Photographer

    - My dress

    - Flowers (preliminary discussions)

    - Becoming catholic (FI is catholic but im not official yet :-))

What other big things am I potentially missing?

@Miss Sydney: Hey girly... so I'm technically a few weeks after you on Sept. 24 but the only things different that I have done are booked the photographer, booked the DJ, and have been in RCIA classes to become Catholic since September.

I was super surprised at how many photographers were booked for September!  I would make that a priority.  We actually were forced into moving our day bc the Church and Hall weren't available on the 17th.... September is a big wedding month in general!

Also, start checking with the church you want to join as a Catholic.  Most RCIA classes run from September to Easter each year.

    Goodluck and happy planning!  :)

Whoa these posts made me feel a whole lot better. I was starting to think I was really behind the ball but now feel like I'm more on track

    So far we have:

-Booked Ceremony/Reception Site (catering done on site)

    -Organized Hotel Room Blocks

-Done Wedding Website and purchased domain name

-Sent Save the Dates (semi destination wedding so those went out SUPER early)

    -Booked Photographer

    -Asked Bridal Party

    -Bought Dress

    -Ordered Bridesmaid Dresses

We need to do the following:

-Figure out Officiant for Wedding Ceremony

-Find back up rain location (ceremony is slated for outdoors)

-Music! (Band vs. DJ debate rages on)

    -Flowers

    -Hair and Make Up

-Registering (for some reason my FI has NO interest)

Am I missing anything? Happy planning.

Uh-oh. If you guys are behind then I'm really in trouble. Or maybe different people do different things.

    So far we have:

-Booked ceremony & reception venue (includes food, so no need for caterer)

    -Purchased my dress

    -Sent deposit in for photographer

-Ordered STDs (hopefully we will send them out early February)

In the next month or so we are working on:

    -Finishing the website

    -Getting a room block

    -Finding an officiant

    -Securing a DJ

We finally set our date last weekend and Sept. 3, 2011 it is! Originally we were shooting for 9.10.11 but our reception venue wasn't available so Labor Day weekend it is, which I think is probably going to work much better for both of our large families including those who are out-of-town. I hope we're not "too" behind! So far this is what we have done:

    - My Dress, Veil and Shoes are purchased!

    - Save the Dates designed (to be order at end of month)

    - DJ secured and deposit made

    - Church and Officiant Booked

    - Reception Hall booked (includes alcohol) and paid for!

    - Website up and ready for views. Updates of course will be part of the regular routine.

    - I've asked my attendants and I believe he's asked his. As for the rest of the party, haven't even talked about it.

    - Hair for me and the bridesmaids booked and paid for! (I do wedding photography myself and I'm trading services with my stylist so essentially this is FREE!)

    - Patterns bought for BM dresses (yes, we're making them)

    - BM Jewelry/Gifts purchased

So how's this look? Am I behind? What things do I need to start tying down immediately? Any advice is very much appreciated!

You can put in your date and it tells you what you should have done or if your late doing anything! Ive been trying to go by this to help me plan and its been helpful to make sure i dont fall behind!

    Hello FriendBees,

I'm a Sept 3rd as well!  We are also making it a weekend affair, so have sent out notices to people to book at our accommodations early, as it's a long weekend.

We're not sure when to send out the invitations, exactly. We're not sending paper invites (I'm a Green Wedding Bee), but we have a great website.

ALSO... any talk about wedding showers? My friends back home are already wanting me to commit to a date in the early summer (June) for a shower. I'm not sure how far in advance these things are usually planned.  Do you already have shower dates?
