What's on your to-do list for April?

Last month we finalized BM and MOB dresses and hotel room blocks.

This month we will be ordering invitations, booking florist and DJ and deciding on tuxes.  Also, we are DIYing a photoframe cardbox and hope to start it next weekend:

i love the card box! i feel like planning has been kind of slow during the 5-6 month mark, but we just picked the bridesmaid dresses, hired a day-of-coordinator, and our next steps are to pick out/order invitiations and start meeting with bakers for the cake. we might start looking at limos for transportation on the day-of too. i feel like these next 5ish months are going to just fly by!!

    -book our honeymoon

    -reserve all the mens' tuxes

(YUP THEY ARE ALL the FI's duties!!!!!! :P)

as far as DIY - i have to make

    10 pomanders

This month, we're hoping to cross the following off our list:

    • purchase his wedding band
    • fill out our DJ's information form (basically how we want intros to happen, no play lists etc)
    • finalize the menu for the rehearsal dinner

I finished our courtesy baskets this weekend, and there's a couple other projects I'd like to wrap up, but if those 3 get done, I'll be a happy camper. Just trying to wrap up projects before it gets too nice out and I want to play outside instead of plan a wedding.

I Love that Card Box Idea!!!

    We still need to :

    • Finish booking our Honeymoon
    • Rent tables for our location
    • I ordered the invitation paper now I just need to get it to the printers
    • FI needs to pick out his Tux and his GM's tuxes
    • purchase wedding bands
    • start getting monthly facials
    • Work with my sister who is writing our wedding ceremony
    • Wedding day transportation for my bridal party

I think that this is good for the month!!!!!

We're trying to stay ahead of the game since I'm currently freelancing and will soon (hopefully) be in a more "traditional" 9-5 job and thus killing my flexibility but giving us stable income (FI is freelancer too).

Dresses are all picked and purchased, reception site and church is booked.  Cake, flowers, photographer and ceremony musician all decided (all friends). Officiant is found and pre-marital counseling begun.

The things I wanted to have done in March, but now it's April are:

DJ, invite list finalized (and STDs sent), registry, wedding website, and to get a handle on the DIY projects.

We may not get the STD's out.  Is that a huge foul these days?  We got engaged in Feb and we had a lot of catching up to do.  We have a friend with a stationery business who is doing our invites and she'll start working on them this month, too.

DIY: my flower fascinator (done, unless I change my mind), birdcage veil (unless I set it on fire in frustration) and tissue paper pomanders for the church (they look awesome!).

Am I missing anything critical here?  I keep feeling like there's got to be something big that I'm overlooking.

that card box is awesome! I might have to look for something similiar :)

This month I am finishing up centerpieces, playing around with invites (DIY project), finishing guest list, getting addresses, trying to lose some weight!, work on finishing gifts for BM. I think thats it! :)

Invitations! This is the big one. I need to design them, determine the wording, print, address, and send by the beginning of May. Well, I don't really have to send all of them, but my future brother-in-law in Europe needs one so my nephew can get permission to miss a week of school.

Need to book the accommodation for the second half of the honeymoon, preferably this month, but it could slide a little. It's not really tourist season where we're going.

We're installing our own string lighting at the venue, so I need to go there and double check my crude measurements with a tape measure to make sure my plans are ok.

    Plant lavender for my bouquet.

    Here is my list!

    • Order and send out Save the Dates
    • Choose cake
    • Book last hotel for honeymoon
    • Order bridesmaid's dresses

I think that is it for this month, but I really need to start working on rings, groom/groomsman attire, and rehearsal dinner options.  I don't want to wait until the last minute for any of this stuff.

I've been avoiding thinking about it...

    • book honeymoon
    • order wedding bands
    • find out if we're borrowing tables, dishware, flatware, glassware from friend's banquet hall or if I have to book it through our tent rental company (!!!!! totally stressing me out!!!!!)
    • finish designing invitations and test print them (I can't avoid this one any longer)
    • start working on ceremony, although I think this can wait until May
    • start harassing FI about guy's suits.

I love that photo cardbox, totally adorable!

    Find shoes/accesories

    Finalize Groom's suit/tie

Find a printer to print invitations

    Purchase wedding bands

Still waiting for last bridesmaid to order her dress and then that will be all set!

This stuff might trickle into May haha

My biggest plan for April is to finish my invitations because come May I'll be so stressed and busy with finals that there will not be a moment to breath. I don't want to be panicing about invitations while I am panicing about papers!

Also, I am still on the hunt for the perfect wrapping paper(s) for my cardbox (already have the boxes, now I just need the paper to cover them!), I am making complex sailboat table numbers which are about 1/3 finished, I have motivated FI and his groomsmen to search out suits (light gray for FI, dark gray for GMs), I ordered our Thank You cards (the only paper I'm not DIYing because I found an awesome deal on letterpress cards!) and will begin lining the envelopes and making them more "us," I'm making sure the BM dresses I ordered fit and look good, I'm thinking I will begin looking into buying a veil (what kind?! Gah!), and, due to recent events with a lost friendship, I'm also starting the hunt for someone who can do my hair and make-up the day of. Oh, and I am also finding and booking hotel rooms for our grandparents because they've asked me to. I wasn't planning to do a hotel block (because there is really no affordable place between the ceremony and reception and not a single hotel/motel/B&B/Inn near the reception site!).

Yikes, the knot is telling me I ought to have already booked my ceremony muscians, my cake/pie baker, and I ought to be booking my honeymoon too! The To-Do list is too long! :O

I've been distracted these last few months so I have a lot I need to do sooner rather than later...

    • pick & book florist
    • pick & book cake baker
    • pick & book ceremony musucian
    • 1st in person meeting with our JP to talk about what we want for the ceremony

One thing I did get done recently was to find my wedding band - yay!  I used iweddingband.com - ordered 2 I liked so I could try them on at home, and returned one.  I have to get FI sized so I can start looking for his.

I think I am pretty on top of things.  Some of the main things I have left to do are:

-Print the invitations and address about 70 percent that I have left to do.

    -Get fiances wedding ring.

-Set up registery (hopefully this weekend).

-Go in and confirm sizes, colours, etc. for the men's tuxes.

-Ceremony pamphlets (won't be done probably until close the the date).

-Seating chart (can't do until RSVP's are in).

    -Confirm music selections.

-Dress alterations when the time comes.

    Not too bad at all!

~Getting my great grandmother's engagement ring reset and appraised to wear at the wedding

    ~Get everything for centerpieces

~We got our bridal party gifts

    ~Need to get parent gifts

    ~We booked the spa

basically we're down to the more nitty gritty stuff.
