Hi ladies,
FI and I are trying to figure out where we'd like to go for our honeymoon. We plan on going right after the wedding for a week and we would prefer somewhere tropical.
What are your honeymoon plans?! Any tips on where to look into going would be great! :)
We are getting married in las vegas so we are having our honeymoon right after and staying longer than our guest! My parents do all there vacations thru apple vacations and they are all inclusive and so many places to choose from and they have great deals! Good luck!
I'm leaning toward Aruba. From all the research I've done it seems to have the best weather during hurricane season. Also it doesn't seem too expensive. Would love to go to St. Lucia but too much $$.
We are thinking Belize- tropics, beaches, snorkelings, Mayan ruins, ziplining, and just on the edge of hurricane zone so hopefully we will avoid bad storms!
We.are mini mooning someplace local to were we will be living for a week. And then next year we'll be going to Tahiti for a week.
We're going to South Africa for 12 days and going on a safari and spending time around Cape Town. I couldn't be more excited!
We're going to spend 2 or 3 days at a little B&B in the Shenandoah valley directly after the wedding, and then going to Japan for our official honeymoon about 6 months later.
We're going on a minimoon to somewhere local right after we get married and we'll go on our actual honeymoon in January or February. We're going to Trinidad because he has family there. We decided we'd appreciate it more if we went when the weather is cold here at home.
FI is planning the honeymoon. I just want to relax somewhere warm. I'm not sure the timing yet - we don't know if we want to go right after the wedding or wait until it is cold and snowy in WI to go somewhere warm. Maybe a mini-moon and then vacation in January?

We're having our honeymoon right after the wedding. We're most likely going to Ocho Rios but St. Lucia isn't making it easy for us to make a decision. LOL!
We're probably going to Hawaii. We don't have anything booked yet but it's at the top of our list.
Thanks so much everyone! Those are some amazing honeymoon destinations. Our dream is Tahiti but we may be leaning towards Aruba because we would prefer all-inclusive.
We are going to be going to Punta Cana, DR. OUr wedding is Sept. 15 and we'll probably leave the Monday after the wedding.

Then our friends suugested we stay in their beach house in the south of Spain, an hour from Granada. The weather is supposed to be phenomenal and the area very quiet in late September/early October.
We're going to South Africa for 2 weeks and leaving the night after the wedding! I couldn't be more excited!
I've heard Ixtapa is a great place to visit. And, with the hurricane season in the Caribbean I'd rather avoid that. I am researching hotels there!
I think we're going to take a little vacation somewhere we can drive to for a few days, and then take a real honeymoon the following winter. Neither of us like the heat, so going somewhere tropical in September just isn't very appealing to us. Plus we'll have more PTO to use after the first of the year.
We are planning a 7 day eastern caribbean honeymoon cruise after the wedding.
My fiance hasn't been on a cruise before and with hurricane season I figured we might as well avoid any kind of extended boat stays haha... Bad weather mixed with him getting seasick would be horrible! We're thinking about spending a night at a bed & breakfast not far from our area, then heading up to Mackinac Island before traveling down to Iowa where my family is, and having a second more casual reception so I can see them since they won't all be able to make it to the east coast for the wedding. Then we'd fly back home.
Nothing is set in stone yet so our other ideas were a cabin on a lake in Maine, Colorado, or heading up to Canada.
We're hoping to go to Turkey for our honeymoon. We have both been able to get time off after the wedding, so we're hoping we can go for 3-4 weeks.
QBbride we want to do a mediterennean cruise out of Barcelona after our wedding. do you have an idea of what the weather in Turkey is like towards the end of sept/early oct?
We have planned and booked a 7 day cruse to Key West and the Bahamas...we will see what mother nature has to say about that :) Hopefully the Hurricaines will stay away!
We thought about mediterranian cruise.. but I think we've decided on a cruise from Vancouver to Hawaii, touring the islands ending in honululu.
We are pretty excited. We wanted a warm vacation which is hard with hurricain season in Sept.
We're thinking Hawaii!!! Stay away from SE Asia...that was our first choice but its monsoon season!

I have heard really wonderful things about Riu Palace resorts in Mexico so we will probably go with them.
But I am also keeping an eye on groupon b/c they have some really awesome deals on vacation packages, so I am open to any place if the price is right!
Moorea and Bora Bora for us! Thought about the Caribbean but hurricane season makes me nervous.
We're going to Ireland! We'll probably leave the day after the wedding and will be gone 9-10 days!

We are flying to florida and going to the theme parks for 5 days, then we are going on a 7 day eastern caribean cruise, and hoping for good weather!!!
I'm staying in Destin, FL for a week following the wedding. One our first anniversary we will be going to Los Cabo, Mexico
Since we live overseas and have been able do some amazing trips so far: Ethiopia, Uganda, Zanzibar (in 10 days!!), and Doha (in July)... we're very excited to be back in the U.S. for the wedding, so our honeymoon is going to be in the Outerbanks, NC. A nice quiet beach week to soak up America before we have to go back to living apart for another year (me in Uganda, he in Yemen), sounds perfect!
We are getting married in Hawaii (we live in Australia)... we are getting married in Waikiki on the Friday, the boarding a cruise (Carnival Spirit) that goes to Tahiti and Fiji and then ends up back here in Sydney! It's going to be 17 days of pure bliss in a suite with my amazing hubs :)
@MissSawyer: Is that on the Carnival Spirit? It just got lots of fun renos! We are going on that ship after it arrives in Hawaii :) So fun!!!
I love warm destunations and beaches, but 1) everyone does them and 2) I'm usually so over being hot and sweaty by the end of september. So we're going to Paris (and maybe somewhere in Italy) for 2 weeks. Right after the 9/23 wedding. :)
chipmunklove - I just came back from Beliza and it was AMAZING! You must go cave tubing though it was (as the locals say) UNBELIZABLE!! lol
We are going back to where he proposed- the Gold Coast (we are in Australia-Melbourne) cant wait for beach and relaxation with my husband!!
Ok so FI just told me to look up some trips just for fun and I think we've finally agreed on a place!
We're gonna go to Turks and Caicos!! It's still in the Caribbean but it doesn't get affected by hurricane season which should be during the time we're going.
We're so excited!!
San Juan Puerto Rico..my husband is puerto rican/dominican so he is really excited! Wish we could stay longer than 3 nights.
We were looking at Aruba to also avoid the hurrican season,
but we have friends who have offered us their beach house outside of Granada, Spain: and it's perfect weather & no crowds there in early October - our plan is to go for 2 weeks.
