I am getting married this weekend and I am freaking out. I feel like there MUST be a million things I am forgetting....oh well, at this point, it's too late, lol. I do still have to find a good balconette bra, but other than that I "think" I'm ready.
Best of luck to all my September brides, including my fellow Labor Day weekend girls! Let's do this!
Xo, Monkeygirl :)
@Monkeygirl: Yeah us! Getting married this weekend as well! (I'm also am in need of a bra - don't like my longline).
Today is my last day of work - since I'm taking off the rest of the week to prepare. My office threw me the sweetest lunch. They toasted me and we had cake for dessert. It was nice of them to acknowledge my wedding since I couldn't invite them.
Tomorrow is for cleaning and packing up the final stuff for the venue.
Thursday flowers arrive as do some OOT guests.
Friday we'll be making floral arrangements and hanging out.
Saturday is the rehersal
Sunday...Wedding!!
I can't believe September is here and all of the Labor Day Wknd brides are getting married this weekend.
I hope you all have an amazing time and can't wait to hear all about it. Enjoy, enjoy, enjoy!
Oh my god I'm having the day from hell. Seriously I think I might have a meltdown soon. My stupid bloody fridge broke and Sears is giving me SO much trouble about fixing it, nevermind that we found a crack with scorch marks around it in the freezer, so as far as I'm concerned, the thing is a safety hazard and they should replace it. But first I have to pay them to replace the part. UGH!!!! I just need a stupid working fridge so I can make caramel for 150 people and put it in the bloody fridge!!!!!
FI's stepmother is a cow. I can't deal with her any more. She's just got her nose in everything and I swear I'm going to punch her. She called one of my vendors. Are you kidding me?!
I'm stuck coming up with ideas for my table numbers. I hate them. I hate table numbers.
We haven't bought any booze yet.
FI's suit is too small and he somehow thinks he'll magically lose 10 pounds before the wedding and be able to fit rather than taking it to the tailor to get it let out.
I have to iron the linens. My mom is coming out tomorrow to help.
My FMIL is coming to stay at our house for three days because FI decided this would be an ideal time to refinish her floors.
FML. I'm having a craptastic day. Someone get me a bottle of wine ASAP.
I am getting married this weekend as well! I'm at work right now and cannot concentrate for the life of me (hence the fact that I'm on Weddingbee ha) I'm only working till 1 tomorrow and then I am done for 2 1/2 weeks! Woohoo! We're in pretty good shape. Just have to drop off a bunch of stuff to the caterer who is acting as our planner. I can't believe I'm getting married in 5 DAYS!!
Congrats to all you labor day weekend brides!
zomg. I have a few things left to do ... like finish seating arrangements and such. so complicated! Once those are done, gotta print escort cards. and figure out if I am in fact leaving my job or not (seriously work, get it together!!). Other than that though, we are pretty well set. huzzah.
congrats to the ladies getting hitched this weekend!
@bakerella: Ugh. I am so sorry. I have been having that day for the last three days running. I cannot even tell you how many times I have burst into tears in the last few days, and over ridiculous stuff. (If FH is serious, have him cut out ALL carbs, fruit, dairy (except small amounts of cheese), sugar, alcohol, salt, and fats/oils for the next week -2 weeks. Only lean cuts of meat, eggs (mix in some just whites), low-fat cheeses, beans, and LOTS and lots of veggies - but all of those foods in as large of quantities as he wants. Snacks can be small quantities of almonds, hummus, etc. Seriously. My FH can lose 15-20 lbs. in 2 weeks like that. I can lose about 5-10 lbs. Boys are annoying like that.)
All of that said, I AM GETTING MARRIED THIS WEEKEND! OMG. It's finally here. I just got a pedicure, and we fly out to tomorrow!!!
Of course, tonight I have to pack and finish the slideshow...
@septcabride: Hahaha! My mom made a slideshow but my FI vetoed it (which I'm kind of happy about). It'll only be shown at our rehersal dinner. He's so vain. He probably thinks this post is about him. :)
Congrats everyone! Just a little over 2 weeks for me. I wish it was this weekend!
@bakerella sorry you are having such a hard time
I have so much left to do and only one day off from work before the wedding :( Left to do - design programs, get them printed, and get them assembled; finish decorations; finish organizing the playlists for the music; make all centerpieces and boquets after the rehearsal dinner; plan a bridesmaid's lunch; go get our marriage license; and the biggie is FOOD. The week of the wedding my parents are going to Sams Club to buy all the food. We have to prepare it and get it ready to set out the day of the wedding. STRESS. Help!
Yesterday we were talking about time-off for the wedding (FH may be starting a new job the week of the wedding - OMG) and he said it would be weird to work for 4 days, then take 3 off. And I was like "you mean 3?" He honestly never thought it might be helpful for him to take off the day before the wedding in case things needs to get done at the last minute. Bless his heart.
@bakerella: Don't panic. Your fridge should be working within the next few days. Take advantage of FMIL's visit and put her to work making caramel. Ignore FI's stepmother. One of my friend's FMIL had the nerve to call her caterer and try to get them to change the menu. Let your vendors know that no changes are to be made unless they talk to YOU. For table numbers - is there something important to you and your fiance? We went with names of local restaurants, as we're known for being complete food snobs. We bought $0.99 frames from Ikea, printed out "[Restaurant name] [here's why we picked it]" on some paper, and framed it. Don't overthink this. I think you should also take advantage of FMIL's visit and have her iron the linens, which will give you and your mom an opportunity to shop for booze tomorrow. This will also facilitate your wine needs. And as for your fiance, if he's really serious about losing that much weight that quickly, it might be possible for a guy to achieve this, but it's going to suck. Lots of veggies, lean protein, nonfat dairy, water, and whole-grain carbs. No alcohol, sugar, added salt, or white bread/pasta. This is basically Week 1 of the Body by Glamour plan, and I dropped 7 or 8 pounds the last time I tried it. I'm still a fan of maybe knocking him unconscious and dragging him to the tailor, though.
You can do this. It's the final sprint, and I have faith in you.

Starting tomorrow (so close enough - our Aussie friends are already enjoying September, so whatever).
How is everyone doing? What does everyone have left? And can you believe some of us are getting married THIS weekend?
I had my final fitting last weekend and confirmed my cake flavors and size with the baker last week. Faxed in my final catering contract and credit card authorization form this morning. I need to pay one other vendor this week. Pay a bunch of them next week, and then the following Friday I GET MARRIED!
The only big ticket item I think I have left are the centerpieces. But they're potted plants, so I can't really do anything with them until the weekend of Sept 11, otherwise they might not be blooming at the wedding.
I'm getting boxes organized for my DOC to make her life easier. And am trying to find the perfect foundation for my MUA (I don't care for the salon products). Getting my hair colored on Friday and a facial tomorrow.
Things are wrapping up, and I am so ready!
