just wondering, is there a certain sequence I have to follow on my wedding day? Example: pics at my house, ceremony, pics in the church, and in the reception etc. Personally I don’t want a traditional reception (bridal entrance, garter/bouquet toss etc.) I just want my guest to eat, mingle and have fun. How are you guys going to follow?

We are going with a unconventional approach, where we are going to do all of our bridal party /bride/groom/family pictures before the ceremony. That way we can go immediatly to cocktail hour and enjoy the night! With all the money we are spending we don’t want to miss too much time by taking pictures(our ceremony is on the same site as our reception)

We are getting married at the same location as our reception so we will be seeing each other before hand. That’s actually the way my photog likes to do it. So it’s our pics together than family pics. We are having no receiving line after ceremony it’s right off to cocktail hour to mingle. We are being announced at the recep. Then our first dance, parent dances & toasts. We are having a sitdown dinner so we will have dinner music playing at each course but then we will have dance music between the courses. We are not having a garder dance instead we are having an Anniversary Dance. The couple on the dance floor married the longest gets my throw away bouqet. And then I imagine we’ll cut our cake sometime in the night. Just wanted to get all the formality stuff out of the way so we can party the rest of the night.

i dont have my time line yet – we’re not doing the "show" until feb 2009
but i have told the photog and my wedd planner that i want all pics before the ceremony – except for me and the hubbs – tha’ts why we’re paying for extra platters of appies and open bar – so the guests can mingle amongst themselves while i share some alone time with my baby…
we’re doing away with BP dance and head table – it’s so awkward seeing friends dance with people they just met while their significant others are watching… and we figured they’d wanna sit and eat with their SOs as well…
