Hi im posting for my friend because im worried about her. she bas been bloated for 2-3 weeks… When i say bloated i mean to that point that its an extra 10″ on her waist. She has been to so many doctors and they just keep saying it will go away or its her period. She took 3 pregnancy tests all negative.. And honestly if she was pregnant would she be so big yet anyway!?? One doctor said it was a fibroid now other doctor said no! She went for an Mri today… Have any of you guys heard or seen something like this before??
For reference she is a tiny girl normally her waist is 27″ she around 5’2. last week i measured her she eas 37″… but she looks bigger now.

Do you know if she has a gluten intolerance or allergy? That may be the cause. I know of a woman who for a few days or weeks — I can’t remember which — was constipated and bloated very much. Her stomach was rather hard and she was in pain. It turned out that she had issues with gluten.
Maybe your friend has something similar.

ahh this exact same thing is happening to me! I’ve been to the doctor and ER and they just kinda shrug it off. The ER doctor told me to eat more vegetables. Seriously!? It’s gotten worse over the last couple of weeks. I tried eliminating dairy and no change. Blood tests confirmed no gluten allergy and not pregnant. I’m going to set up an appointment with a GI! Also it could be a sign of ovarian cancer but it is extremely rare (and even less so in people under 40). I did have an xray and it showed nothing abnormal in the belly region. No weight gain just huge belly!
It started right after my honeymoon and I get bloated to the point where I look enormously pregnant. So sick of the bloat!! Taking colace and that doesn’t even really help!
keep updating about your friend and I will too!

How has her water intake been? If she’s not drinking enough then bloat could happen. If the doctors cannot find anything… would she be opposed to trying an enema or a cleanse? I know it sounds kind of gross, but if it’s nothing REALLY wrong, that might help.

I don’t mean to be alarmist but this happened to my boss’ best friend. All of a sudden she put on about 10 lbs just in her stomach and was extremely bloated. She ended up having cancer in her uterus and it was so advanced that she only lived about a month after being diagnosed. She had no other symptoms and was completely blind sided. She was diagnosed after getting an MRI so hopefully your friend’s results come back soon. I wish her all the best.

Same thing as me. IBS, ovarian cysts, you name it. I also have gluten/dairy issues. She needs to be checked out by her doctor for sure.

@ju5tdance: oh how scary! How old was she when she was diagnosed?
