    Hi, bees...

I just wanted to hear some confirmation from someone besides my mom & bridesmaids. The dress I originally wanted to get was going to take too long to order, so I got a $99 one from David's Bridal that I thought would be cute, and such a bargain. But... well, now I HATE it. I keep going back to an Alfred Angelo style that I tried on, and while it wasn't in my size, you can still get an idea of how it looks from the photo I took.

I have found it on eBay in my size for $399 and I think I'm going to bite the bullet and spend the money to buy it, and just sell the other one on craigslist or something.

Here's the cheap one that makes me look frumpy:

Here's the one I want to buy instead:

serious dress regret crisis : wedding Aa1148

I think it's better fitting, more age-appropriate (I'm 46), and makes me look about 15 pounds lighter than the first one. My budget is tiny, since we are paying for nearly everything ourselves, but I just don't think I'd feel attractive in the first one. My fiance's only dress request was that I find something off-the-shoulder. Oh, and the first one has a bland rear-view; the second one has a stunning corset back, which also means I won't need alterations (the length is perfect).

I have to buy the second one. Am I right? Or should I suck it up and wear the bargain?

I love the second one! I say go for it. Do what makes you feel great....and even if you can't sell the first one, it's less than a lot of women pay for one dress.

@dmcanespy: YES YES! Buy the 2nd one.  It looks beautiful on you.  I actually think that the 1st dress does nothing for your figure, and you look incredible in the 2nd one! Just like you said, you look 15 (maybe even 25) pounds lighter in the 2nd dress!

I like them both on you, however I think the first one would be more lovely if the top ruffle was removed. That way, it would elongate your body more like the 2nd dress seems to. Why don't you maybe try that, and see if you like that look first? If that doesn't prevail, then snatch up the 2nd dress? What do you have to lose? It might be an inexpensive fix, since you're trying to keep your budget reasonable.

    Good luck.

Oh yes the second one is much better! You can probably sell the 1st dress on ebay for the same price. I would sell it for $120 including shipping and then maybe you will get some bids. That way you won't loose out much.

This second dress is beautiful!!!!!! I think its good that you already know what it looks like on your body.

I think that purchasing the second one would make you a very happy bride and wearing the other one would make you a very sad bride, so I think you should get the second one, if you can. I also think the second one is much more flattering on you.

Um, i'll put monies from my piggybank to help you buy the 2nd one. You could totally make do with the 1st one, but if you can any way squeeze that 2nd one in, do it. The feeling you'll get from not wearing that 1st one will be worth it alone! AND you're drop-dead gorgeous in that 2nd one, I love it!

The second one is a lot better at giving you a figure and it also has a more classic feel. The first one just doesn't seem to work, but I think it would look a lot better if it were tea length.

You look much better in the 2nd one, get the 2nd one. $99 isnt that big of a loss even if you dont sell it. If you told me you spent hundreds on the first one, id be concerned. Its your big day, you need to feel good.Tongue out

Dress #2 suits your body very nicely.

Dress#1 is nice but if you cant sell it,  its is only $99 lost,  not too much,  and you could mayb e remove the top ruffle like a PP said,  or remove the bottom ruffle and have a short dress either for your reception,  or some other special occasion...

The second one looks stunning on you, and you sound totally unexcited about the first dress. You should feel excited on your wedding day, so I say go for it and get the second dress! You look amazing in it!

Really love the second one!You should go for it, it's not nice to think about this dress over and over again during your weddingday and feel unhappy about it while wearing the bargain!

Yup, second dress! Looks perfect on you and fits like a glove!

@anne B:  I agree with the reception dress idea! Definitely shorten it; maybe lose a ruffle or too.

OOOH dress 2, no doubt! You have a great figure, the first one hides it, and the second one emphasises it!

Eh.. I kinda like the first one actually, but I'm probably partial to the tiers because my dress has them. I would wear a cute shrug or bolero with it, personally and I think it would look really nice. That said, you seem to really love the second one so if it makes you happy, go for it! I'm sure you'll be able to sell the first one. I ended up changing my mind about the first dress I bought and I'm so glad I bought the second one because I love it so much more.

I do like the second one a lot better. You look great in both of them, but the second one is much more figure flattering. If you can afford it, go for it. Good thing you only paid $99 for the first one!

I agree - second one.  Double check all the sites i.e. Ebay, Etsy, Recycledbride, and here to make sure you cant find one for sale cheaper, and if no luck - I'd say go for it.  I agree that $99 is not too big of a loss - especially when you can list it for sale and possibly get your money back.  Good luck!!

2nd is more flattering for you. That is your dress, at least the other was only $99, maybe you can return it or re-sell. I'm sensing some major regret here and go rush order it if you need! You don't want to look back and think how you settled. Try to look for your AA dress used or on ebay too.

Definitely worth it to get the second one! Even if you can't sell the first one on Ebay, you'll have spent less on both dresses than many brides spend on one. It's worth it for you to be in a dress you will be happy in.

I like them both. I say buy the one online and if it isnt suitable for whatever reason we can work with the first dress. I think all that first dress needs is a wider sash, and some kind of fun floral emelishment at the waist. It might need to be taken in a bit too.

    Keep us posted!
