I don’t know about you, but I’m having a VERY hard time sleeping and have been for the past week. Wedding stuff is filtering through my head all night long. I’m seriously only getting about 5 hours of sleep each night. Benadryl usually knocks me out, but I’m doubling up on my normal dose (and I only take it like once every 3 months when I can’t sleep), and it’s doing nothing for me! Of course this is leading me to be cranky and emotional. I feel like there’s a ton of stuff to do but really there isn’t, and oddly I can’t figure out how I’m going to get the little stuff done. I think I need some Ativan or at least a good stiff drink!
I think adding to the stress is my dad’s wedding at the end of September. I’m going to have to drive 4 hours to get there, take a day off work, pull the kids out of school for a day, and it’s going to cost me a pretty penny… all on top of my wedding stress.
Is anybody else having trouble sleeping? If so, how are you dealing with it?

Yeah i am. And it sucks!Its normal any time you are stressed. Ill have some sleepless nights while i am working on a project or trying to get stuff done. Ive done the benadryl thing too. The more i get done, the more sleep i get. Exercise helps get rid of all the stress and you can sleep better.

Thanks, I’ll try to just really work hard to get things done. It does make perfect sense; the more I get done, the less I have to worry about. I thought about exercise too. I can’t seem to find time, but I think it would be worth it to make the time. Thanks so much for the suggestions!

I’m having the same problem.
What helps me is to write down all my worries before bed and deal with them in the AM. I also have a list organized by week of what I need to do; the feeling of finishing all my tasks assigned for the week and moving to the next week before it even comes is *so* satisfying!!

I go to sleep with “wedding” on my mind and at 05 AM (hours before i actually have to get up to go to the office) I wake up and start thinking “wedding”again. Feel tired all day, but cant sleep…big sigh!

Wedding stuff all day, every day. My fault though, I procrastinated a lot… it’s almost here though!

The major difference is that I’ve been getting up early without a problem…normally I’m a pass-out and don’t get up kidn of girl. Sleeping itself is fine, but the hours are definitely cut short.

I’m literally thinking about wedding stuff 24/7. It’s exhausting, so you’d think I’d be tired enough to sleep but nooooo…

OMG!!! I have been like this for months. I go to bed thinking oh but I need to do this and this and that… it won’t get done.. I’m not sleeping anyways so I may as well get up and do it. Up til 3, 4, 5am working on projects… don’t sleep. My FI is very concerned, keep saying I’ll get some sleeping pills but my days are filled with my to do list!! The only time I have slept is when I have been out of town and do not have access to the internet, computer or my DIY craft supplies.
I am open to any suggestions.. I may try the writing down my worries before bed and letting them go that way

I’m so tired right now, I wish I could just turn my brain off at night! I might have to resort to taking sleeping pills just to get some rest. So glad I’m not the only crazy one!! 🙂

I recommend taking melatonin before going to bed because it helps regulate your sleep cycle without being addicting. Midnite also works for if you wake up in the middle of the night. I have crazy wedding dreams every night, mixed with books i read during the day, not always a good result.
