Please step away from the wedding blogs!!! Seriously. Go back to the basics. Why are you getting married? What’s really important to you? The only real concern I see in all that is that you’re going to have to go out to the dancing area for the Hora. That’s fine. Everyone loves the Hora and they’ll totally follow you outside for it. Beyond that I don’t think the look or ceilings is a problem at all. It’s so easy to get caught up in the big sparkly images produces by the WIC, but most weddings are not like that. I actually try to avoid wedding blogs and shows because I find they stress me out. It makes it easier to avoid comparing my wedding to others if I’m not constantly being baraged by fantastic photo shoot images. Because, in the end, I think we would all prefer a personal, meaningful wedding to a picture perfect wedding. So don’t stress the aestetics. And remember, weddings should not be competitions. We’re all beautilful snowflakes. Or whatever. Just don’t let other weddings stress you out.

You can rent gas heating towers to put outside if you think it’ll be cold. I think that pinterest and wedding blogs have also made weddings seem unrealistically perfect. Nobody is going to be looking at the venue judging how “you” it is – they will be focused on socializing and eating!

Instead of looking at big venues, try searching intimate venues. Maybe you’ll get a few ideas so you can add some interesting or creative touches to your venue. If you DIY them, you won’t break the bank 🙂

My wedding was year ago, and I still see pins that make me go “OMG I WISH I’D DONE THAT!” even if it didn’t fit with my wedding at all, and mine was my dream wedding! We just can’t have everything, unfortunately.

@gm234:  Just one! That I didn’t give a copy of my Photo List to anyone other than my photographer to make sure we got all the family pictures I wanted. I am missing shots with my uncles family, and my mom and I were a bit upset when we realized. Decor-wise, etc, no regrets. A good photographer and a good photolist is what i recommend for any bride! A year later, besides the memories, photos are what you have!
