Do they need to be the same dress at all? Can't you send your girls out shopping on their own with certain parameters?
I don't know if it will help but we got the bmaid dresses at Town & Country Bridal since they have such a huge selection. You might also go to like Macy's or something since it doesn't sound like you're tied to a real "bridesmaidy" sort of look.
It sounds like you may be limited to a bridal store with that variety of sizes. What if you pick one or two colors and let the girls choose their style so they are comfortable? I am not usually an advocate for david's bridal but they do have some cute gowns for under $100 in a lot of styles.
Or if you really want to go for it pick a style and have each girl wear a different color. How cute is this!

I loved these dresses on ETSY but they are more than you are looking to spend. http://www.etsy.com/listing/73292185/vintage-inspired-tea-dresses-for-your
I say have a seamstress make your dresses. Maybe the wrapdress. Maybe another style. A talented seamstress will be able to make adjustments for BMs being plus sized and/or well endowed.
There is a blog today from one of the bees mentioning her concern with buying her maids dresses at a shop that offers the dresses in all sizes, including plus size, as she herself is a plus size bride.
She mentioned David's Bridal, Alfred Sung, and Alfred Angelo as having a full range of sizes.
I don't know about the prices but Alfred Angelo's Dream in Color line has dresses in all styles and many bright colors.
Why do they all need to wear the same dress? They could each wear a similar dress in a different color - that would look great!
mermaid1082: no they don't need to be the exact same dress, I was just trying to get all the same style (summer/approx. knee length/ sleeveless or cap sleeves).
mjameson83: that pic is super cute! I'd like all the same "style" dress so either the same exact dress or mismatched is okay, I think as long as they "go" together in their feel.
beluga: they don't necessarily need to have the same dress but I did have one of my maids tell me (before I made her a bridesmaid) that if I were going to have different colored dresses, I really shouldn't ALSO do different styles of dress...so ever since then I just thought it was really messed up to have different colors AND different styles...but I think if they were the same style (say a typical summer dress) but different necklines, that would be fine.
Have you guys seen different colors AND different styles before and look alright? I just kept getting the impression that was a BIG no no..and while I am all for going against the grain, I didn't want to get too crazy...but if I could pull it off i'd love to.
Absolutely they can have different colors and different styles.
wedding bee won't let me post the pics but you can see some examples here:
Don't do the wrap dress if you have well-endowed ladies. For those of us with boobs, it SUCKS to not be able to wear something with support.
DB does get new colors in ocassionally. Have you been to the store? The colors can look different in the store vs. online, and might change your mind.
I'm a huge fan of "wear your own style" dresses. What if you had all of the girls in black/grey dresses and did colored sashes, heels, and accessories? DB has several sash options that would work great for this!
Yes, I've seen the colors at DB in person--they're close...but I'm so picky :/ The "watermelon" color they have is just too bright.. Jeez I'm weird. and they're all between $100-150...and trying really hard to stay below that. and try to find rich fall tones that are still bright and summer appropriate. (like the yellow and orange dresses above).
Would the wrap dress work if they all wrapped them in the typical v neck way? and wore a nice bra with it and used tape???? ????????????

Oh, bees...I need some help :/
I'm started to become run-down, worn out and discouraged figuring out what to do about my bm dresses. I'm also trying my hardest to keep them under $100 and be nice by catering to different girls' requests.
In my ideal world, I'd like my bridesmaids (6 girls) to each wear a different color (rich and bright tones)--see example photos:
Or even something like this:
I have compromised on a few things already and having different colored or patterned dresses is something I really don't want to have to compromise on.
So, some ideas we've come up with so far are to:
1. keep trying desperately to find the colors/tones of dresses I want (colors from first two photos above) in sizes from 0-22 (I would just used David's but the price is a bit high AND they aren't the colors I'd like :/ --maybe the colors will change into the fall?
2. have every girl find a light gray short dress and also buy a summer shrug (each in a different color)--but it'll be June in St. Louis, MO (and although it'll be shaded by trees and around 5pm, it's still hot and humid).
3. find printed dress that all "go" (see second photo above) in sizes 0-22
4. make (or have made) 1 seam convertible wrap dress (http://rowena.typepad.com/rostitchery/infinity-dress.html) in the colors and sizes we need/want. This *seems* like the most feasible option BUT I've heard they can be a hassle and with some girls being plus-size and also well-endowed, I don't know how well this will work?????????
Here are the requests I'm trying to cater to, from the bridesmaids:
--above the knee length, if possible
---slightly below or at knee length, if possible
(either of those are okay with me...even if all girls aren't at the same length, that's fine too)
---covered arms with a shrug, cardigan or bolero (self-conscious of arms)
Can any of you guys help??? Any similar experiences????? with any of the dress types I've mentioned or trying to make a "rainbow" or catering to wishes???
I'm so exhausted but I really want to stick to my guns.
Thanks guys!!!!!!!!!!
