@Ibblet:  my boss does this, he likes to lean over my shoulder with his hand on my other shoulder when he talks to me at my desk.  Irks me to no end.

Ugh I don’t like being touched either! It is so annoying when people do that!

@MsGinkgo:

Eww, seriously guys?! LOL I cannot imagine that happening at my work! But I guess at a law firm everyone is pretty careful. YUCK, I sympathize with you. That would NOT be ok with me.

I hate people like that! I am a touchy person by nature, but to people I know, not semi-stranger coworkers! I work with a nurse tech like that. He is always walking up and rubbing the nurses shoulders, and some of them like it, good for them, but I really dont. He is creepy old to be rubbing me, plus he is super slimey anyway (he brought his mistress to meeet his coworkers but wont let his wife come see him) so it really bothers me. Y

Just make a grossed out face at him like he’s disgusting and say “UUUUUHHHgh why are you touching me??” really loud. I would guess everyone is tired of nonsense like that.

Have you asked him to stop? It’s not really appropriate of him, but he probably isn’t going to stop if you don’t ask him to.

I just make it very clear that there is no touching at work.  When my assistant got engaged I gave her a hug, but that was a rare exception.  🙂  I’m very clear – “Don’t touch me.”  Then I laugh and say “but seriously, just don’t touch me.”

@Ibblet:  I used to work In a mall and would have to deposit the money after closing in a bank drop box just outside . I actually watched the mall security guard walk up to someone depositing money and scare them as a practical joke. ( I think he may have knew them, but I’m not positive on that) how inappropriate hey?

@Ibblet:  this is probably more because I don’t want anyone to see when Im on the bee or other internet site im not supposed to be on when im supposed to be working… but!!!! I don’t like when people come around my desk to stand *right next* to me when they need to talk to me. Hellooooo!!! I have conference chairs in front of my desk for a reason. take a seat! let’s chat! but don’t effing come around my desk. This is stardust space only! no outsiders allowed! unless I invite you around to show something on my screen. Other than that, go away!

@Ibblet:  If one of my coworkers in my current workplace was doing that to me, I would totally say:  Seriously touch me one more time and I will cut you >.<

But, I’ve worked here for 4 years and we all get along and it’s a very small business and not a big corporate environment where there could be trouble for saying such things…

Tell him to knock it off next time, and if he doesn’t, go to your boss or HR.
