Third time shall be the charm!! (Fingers crossed for you)

Glad to hear that you are okay. We have been having wicked storms. Edmonton had a tornado warning, that got reduced to a tornado watch. Anything can happen in Alberta. It hailed that day too. I got stuck at work as it was unsafe to leave. During my meeting, I saw flashes of fork lightning from left to right.

Here’s a picture of it just south of Edmonton by Pidgeon Lake from last week:

Fingers crossed!

@lalalyanne: Sorry to thread-jack, but I’m so excited to see a bee that lives in BC! H and I have been thinking about accepting a job there in the next few months 🙂

@lalalyanne:  Wow! At least you were in the safest place to be during lightning strike but pretty damn scary! I would have wet myself and cried! lol. Good job on the lottery ticket, sounds like you are in for some good luck! Glad you weren’t hurt and glad to hear your pony will be ok.

@lalalyanne:  Victoria? I don’t know much about it and I’m trying to do as much research as possible to figure out if it’s a good place for us to live. But I hear good things about Canada and we’re taking a trip there next month to see if we like it before we decide!

@RipleyC:  You are thinking of moving to Victoria BC?

Do it! Vancouver Island is so gorgeous. It rains a lot, but the snow melts fast. My favourite places to go on the island are just outside of Tofino (before Tofino — awesome hiking trails) and Parksville. Living costs, however, can be expensive. To use the ferry from the island to the mainland would cost $100 per trip, depending on your vehicle and number of passengers.

Also agreed with Fort St John. That’s quite north, lol!

@lalalyanne:  LOL! I am the opposite. When I have to drive around BC, especially around the Okanagan area, I’m like.. AH! The wind might blow the car off!! The craziest drive (and most fun) was probably on Vancouver Island from Parksville to Tofino. A long and winding road!

The weather has been definitely funny; 12 years of living here and I haven’t seen storms that are almost tropical-like. The last time Edmonton had a tornado was in the 80s.

OP, ever seen a double rainbow AND lightning underneath the rainbow? Last year, FI and I went camping just outside of Hinton, AB. We found the end of the rainbow on Highway 16, but didn’t see any pot of gold:

I really like how diverse Canada is, in terms of weather and landscape. (Hence, we talk about the weather quite often, lol)
