I ordered my Maggie Sottero dress in August. I just called the bridal store yesterday and they still are not sure when it will be here.
My wedding is in 3 months and I am seriously freaking out? Does it normally take this long? Can I follow up with the designer rather then the bridal store….since they seem to have terrible customer service???

I think it takes about six months so you’re right at that spot. It’s odd that they don’t know, though, it seems like something they should be able to figure out! I wouldn’t worry too much for another couple of weeks.

I think it does take this long for Maggie dresses. I’m sure if a shop rings a designer and enquires they quote the name of their shop and some sort of reference number, so it may depend if the bridal store would give out the reference number to you.

Maggie Sottero dresses are known to take a particularly long time. Mine took 7 or 8 months. I probably would try to either push the bridal salon or call the designer. It’s not concerning that it hasn’t arrived in 6 months… but I would be worried that they don’t even have an estimated arrival date.

I also ordered a Maggie Sottero and the Bridal store said it will take 5-6 months for it to come in.
I ordered it in September so I SHOULD be expecting in Feb/Mar.
I noticed we have the same wedding date! dont freak out theres still plenty of time.

Maggie Sottero provides a ship date as soon as an order is placed. Your bridal store should really know when the dress is going to be shipped. I ordered mine the last week of august and it got here the first week of January. Every time I called my store (like every month!) they had a new date for me – first it was due at the end of Feb, then it was beginning of Feb, and then it was early January.

They had given me an original date of January 24th, but when I called they said they weren’t sure. UGHHH, customer service at this store is severely lacking.
Don’t they know not to mess with a bride and her dress? LOL

@lilmiss26: Ah well I know when I went to go check out BM dresses, I had asked about the ship date of my dress (again lol) and they got all these confused looks on their faces while they were looking at the computer. it’s entirely possible that your dress is in route and so it shows that its not at the factory but its not in yet – and apparently MS has a US headquarters that inspects the dresses when they come to the US, so it could be there, customs, whatever. Hope you get your dress soon!

Hi – I ordered my Maggie Sottero in August too. I called the bridal shop earlier this week because originally they told me 4-6 months and it will be 6 months in a few days. They said it’s not due to ship until end of March so it should be in sometime in April! so that’s actually 8 months from when I ordered….frustrating!

Oh wow, I would be stressed. I only had 7 months from the time I got engaged to the time I’m getting married. My bridal shop told me that Watters tends to ship more quickly. So I’m glad she steered me away from Maggie. I just hope it comes in time for you AND me 🙂

@lilmiss26: I ordered mine in July and they said it won’t com in until March!! Thank god my wedding isn’t until July.

I got a bit nervous when I read this! We’re getting hitched on the same day and I ordered my Maggie in October 2010. I *think* it’ll come in on time, but I am just worried about having enough time for alterations!

I think it has something to do with Chinese New Year….my bridal shop said that they close down for awhile to celebrate. Wish they would celebrate by making my dress! HAHA! Kidding! It will be here before the wedding! =) I put mine on rush order and it still took 4 months!
