My place put 1:15 in the contract (I made him include this), but he said it would probably be lower that day, but didn't want to shoot himself in the foot. There will also be the maitre'd, wedding planner (who comes with the hotel) and other employees that will help out if needed.

How many servers should there ideally be at a sit-down wedding reception dinner? One server per 10 guests? 1 per 20? My pet peeve is having half of the room still waiting for dinner to be served while others are almost finished. I am willing to pay for extra servers if needed to avoid this kind of delay. What have others found to be ideal?
