Has anyone ever machine stitched embellishments on invitations?
With the giant cost of invitations looming over us, I am considering ordering inexpensive plain invitations on ncie linnen paper, and embellishing them on my own.
i was thinking about machine stitching a few rows or a design down the edge to spice them up a bit.
has anyone tried this? did you run into any problems? do you have pictures of how it came out?

@moose91: we didn’t use a machine but we hand-stitched about half of our save the dates before deciding to go in a different direction

I didn’t stitch anything ONTO my invites but I did stitch across my invites without thread to make a perferation so that the RSVP card could be pulled off. I didn’t have any trouble in terms of the needle breaking or anything like that. It was pretty easy. The things I’d watch out for are:
1) Play around with different length stitches. If the stitches are too short the paper may tear really easily. If the stitches are too long, the thread will pull right out.
2) Maybe hand tie the ends of the thread?
I’d just do a few test runs to see what works best.

Hi there. I have this tool already for my card making and i love it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WqZfUQejrDw&feature=player_embedded
you just roll the tool across the page with your chosen design then stitch across.
