I'm in the middle of making flashcards for finals (over 500, so far!) and watching Sex and the City while I do it. I always go back and forth, but I think I wish she would've ended up with Aidan! For other S&tC fans, who did youl like more?
MUCH preferred Aidan! I was so sad after they ended. :/ Big was just a jerk for most of the series, lol.
Between the two, I always liked Aidan more, but Steve was by far my favorite SATC guy.
Aidan!! BUT, they kind of tried to ruin him in the second movie. =( Which sucks.
@mrsbruff2b: I think they did it on purpose since so many viewers preferred Aidan. Lol
Even though they were so back and forth and that drives me stinking insane, I really like that she ended up with Big. I do think that Aidan is a better guy.
I get so into shows. I love having conversations about them like they are real people and situations. :)
I always thought Aidan was kind of a wuss; he just wasn't right for Carrie. Don't get me wrong, he was a nice guy....maybe it has something to do with the fact that back when I watched them all, I was more into the jerk-guy than the nice-guy, haha. I wonder if I re-watched the series (the DVDs are all right next to me!) that I would change my mind now that I'm older and wiser. ;)
As a guy, I though Aidan was cool - he is the kind of guy I would date (i.e artsy and outdoorsy)......but, as a partner for Carrie - I thought he was the biggets duche! When I see re-runs, I keep seeing more and more how he just tries to change her into what he wants her to be, and then gets pissy when she doesn't change......Ugh...I was so glad when he finally left the show!
I always knew Mr. Big was the one for Carrie...she never had that same love for anyone...even Aidan...
Big. I think that Aiden was just not into Carrie's lifestyle. I totally agree with Rock Hugger about how he tried to change her - Big might act like a total jerk, but he suits her better, I think.
They both sucked. Aidan was always trying to change Carrie (he wanted her to be a homebody, he pushed the marriage issue with her even though he knew she wasn't ready). Big was emotionally unavailable and freakin left her at the altar.
Carrie should have just stayed in Paris with the hot Russian and gotten a job. Write a novel about living in Paris, it's a sex columnist's dream!
@KatyElle: Agree with this. Neither of them were good for her. In fact, none of the guys she dated were that good for her (that I can remember, anyway -- it's been a long time since I watched the show).
That said, I didn't like the Russian guy in France either. I thought he was boring.
Honestly after a while I couldn't really care about who Carrie ended up with because she annoyed me so much.
Aidan was never the right guy for Carrie, they were too different. He didn't really 'get' her, and I don't think she really loved him. Big was always the love of her life, in her mind no one else "was ever quite Big enough".
Plus, I think Aidan's behaviour in the second film was disgusting.

I think Big was a better fit for Carrie, but I personally prefer Aiden. *swoon* I just watched my Big Fat Greek Wedding last night and I still have a smile on my face thinking of him- even though I prefer him with short hair.
Neither!!! Aidan was ugly and not right for her, always trying to change her. Big was sexy, but not there for her and more of a womanizer. If I had to choose, I'd go with Big because I always thought Carrie was independent but also selfish..so Big was better for her.
Im with another PP....I always thought Steve was most realistic and likable.
Aidan for me, Steve for my best guy friend, Big for Carrie. Big treated her like crap a lot of the time but she kept coming back to Big each time (except the second movie, I think all of her cheating was with Big). But Carrie wasn't my favorite of the bunch, she really annoyed me at times. I identify wtih Miranda and respect Samantha.
I think Aiden was a really nice guy, but so not right for her. There relationship was always written around their differences (smoking/non-smoking, waiting for sex/not waiting, country/city, commitment/independence, going out/staying in, etc)
I think Big was a better fit. They are both selfish and seem a better fit.
I actually really like Alexander. Yes, he and Carrie didn't work out either. But I felt like their relationship was mature and simple. Carrie didn't bring as much drama into it. I love season 6
Finally, Burger was the worst. The writers thought he would be liked by being a witty, writer, but I hated him the moment we met him. Just wasn't likeable to me.
@MissShork: Ooosh, I hated Alexander and most of the season as a result! He seemed patronizing and chauvinistic pig in many ways to me. Just really rubbed me the wrong way.
Big, for sure! Aidan was too self-pitying and spineless. And it was really unattractive how he was so desperate to get married--to anyone, as it turned out, since he had a kid like 2 seconds after he and Carrie broke up.
I actually did feel kind of bad for Aidan. Carrie cheats on him, then BEGS him to get back together, says yes when he proposes, then dumps him again. He wasn't the right guy for her, but damn his character put up with a lot of her bullshit!
@AmeliaBedelia: I thought the same thing! Everybody I talk to fan-wise seems to be pro-Aidan, I was devastated when they ended for good :(
@KatyElle: I also kind of hated that she wouldn't wear her engagement ring on her finger... like I don't think that everybody has to follow that tradition, but YIKES! She just didn't seem into it at all!
@MissShork: Gag, Burger. Never liked him! I don't know why, I can't pinpoint it but he just wasn't my favorite.
@KatyElle: I agree. I liked Aiden, but I sure would not wish Carrie on him. Carrie and Big were perfect for each other. They were both commitment phobic cheaters.
Big!!!! As much as I loved Aiden, she was soooooo in love with Big! Chris Noth isn't the best looking guy in the world but I have always thought that no one compares to Mr Big!

I never really bought Big as Carrie's happy ending. They were so on and off, he married (or was engaged to?) some other girl, ditched their wedding (!!!!) and we're supposed to buy that this guy is The One? Pfft. Girl needs to buy some self-respect next time she's at one of those designer stores.
Aidan was such a sweet guy to Carrie. I think he would have been a great husband, but Carrie was too smitten with Big. I'm glad at the end of the TV show he came around and chased after her for once.

Have to agree with PPs, I love Aidan but he wasn't right for Carrie. (Perfect for me though!)
I really hate what they did with him in the second movie. It's like he was a completely different character. They should have let him be that sweet ex boyfriend.
I tried so hard to like Big, but I never did.
For Carrie, Big.
If it were me, Aidan all the way. His furniture making, cute smile, maturity... sigh
