    Hi Bees,

can anyone recommend a reasonably priced ($150 and under) makeup artist in the San Francisco/Bay Area? I already have my hairstylist...she only does client/friend's weddings and doesn't come as a "Team" as many makeup/hair artists do.

I am looking for someone who can create a beautiful, natural look...me, but only better. Nothing too cakey or "wedding"...if you know what i mean. Any referrals or even counter artists you think would work on the side. Wedding is next march (yes, i'm already looking).

    Thanks!

I'm using Annette Avila of Lavish Hair and Makeup. Her rate is $175, but that is for on location. I'm guessing it would be cheaper if you go to the studio. http://www.lavishhairandmakeupstudio.com/. Good luck!

So I have to ask- has anyone in the Bay area gone to a make up counter to find someone to do their make up for the wedding!?  This is one expense that I was totally clueless  on. I had no idea expensive it is to do hair and make up- any thoughts or suggestions on finding a cheaper option?

i've gone to the Christian Dior counter at Nordstrom down in Valley Fair to get my makeup done for engagement shots.  The makeup artist was awesome and super sweet!  She never pressured me to buy anything so it was totally free.  Unfortunately, she doesn't freelance but she is happy to do makeup applications at the counter when she is working.  She says that she works with brides all the time.  I don't know what her work schedule is but if any of you are interested, you can call up Nordstrom (or drop by) and ask for Crystal!
