SF DJ help!

posted 6 months ago in San Francisco Bay Area

What's up my Bay Area Brides!

Anyone have a referral to a live band/DJ??  The DJ is so important to me and my fiance, but we still haven't interviewed anyone that we really click with.  Any suggestions??

lae,

Check out Denon and Doyle DJ. (www.djay.com) They have about 25 DJs you can pick from and you can speak to them personally and go to their presentation events they hold every weekend. You go to get a feel of what or who you like for your event!

For a live band, you can check out Joel Nelson Productions (www.joelnelsonproductions.com). They are a local hiring company for all bands in the area. They cover every genre.

I particularly liked Ever Music Group (www.evermusicgroup.com). They do excellent jazz and R&B work.

I am using A-team DJs for my wedding.  Britt is amazing and really easy to work with.  He was also pretty reasonable compared to some others I interviewed with.  Good Luck!!

Miss Cherry Blossom posted about  DJ Trick Vic here: http://www.weddingbee.com/2008/01/17/an-ear-for-the-bump-ba-bump/

I had contacted him and he's very responsive and has great prices.

We booked www.BigFunDj.com from a bridal fair in SF. Wedding has happened yet but they were very knowledgeable, fun, professional and not pushy.

 Good Luck.

Dave Tutton --- one of the best in the area. he's referral only. More than most, but if you want someone that knows how to spin a crowd, he's your man.

I wanted a Christian DJ so we are using MORNINGSTAR ENTERTAINMENT.  Suzanne Ewing-Glassman is the owner and she's awesome.  Tell her Jackie sent you.  Her husband Randy is doing our wedding on 7/12/08.. they are just awesome to work with .

I think it's so lovely that we bridezillas are willing to share... :)

I checked out Denon & Doyle and Amos but I ended up hiring my friend's wedding DJ, Dino at Pacific Soundz (he's the owner). I knew we had to hire him when my fiance was dancing on the stage, by himself with his eyes closed (and he was SOBER!). He still DJs at clubs/lounges and does a great job mixing hip/hop and the popular songs that compel people to get up and dance.

He's super nice, really easy going, and very professional. Cheap too (about $200-300 cheaper than D&D and Amos). Highly recommend him.

We booked Big Fun DJ's for our wedding in August. I spent a lot of time researching, and they come highly reviewed. Aditionally, both Henry (the owner) and Stefano (our DJ) have been really great to work with. Their equipment is very nice, and they are really flexible and accomodating. We're very excited about using them.

We also heard great things about Dave Tutton. And we looked into "Hey Mr. DJ" aka Rich Amooi (he has a blog that you can Google). He wasn't available on our date, but he looked really interesting.

I wholeheartedly recommend Fog City Entertainment (www.fogcityent.com) if you are looking for a spectacular DJ.  Every time I work with them they are simply stellar!  I used them for my own wedding as well...

Best regards!
