Ugh!!! I had the same problem with Navy...you would think that Navy would be...well, NAVY!! well, it's not..At David's Bridal it is "Marine", and at papersource.com it is "Night" and so on and so on...so frustrating...hope this works out for you...I have taken to carrying a swatch of the blue I want everywhere I go..and order the samples from the online places, that will save you money in the long run...
i am right there with you! i'm using carolina blue, black, and white as my wedding colors and there are approximately three million different shades of what is considered "carolina blue". even in the stores that sell UNC t-shirts, you will find many different shades.
i think i've resolved myself to having multiple "shades" of blue since that's how it's probably going to end up!
Yes!! I think I am going to have no choice but to give in to having different shades of "Pool" at my wedding. I ordered sea glass in aqua color 2 seperate times from the same exact place within 2 weeks and they are both completely different shades, so I called and freaked out so he is sending me more but who knows which shade it will be so I'm just going to mix it all together and say whatever!!!!!! hahahaha!!!!!!
Yeah, i also had pool dresses and ended up getting things in aqua, turquoise and light blue so we ended up with varying shades of blue. Still looked good, and I didnt' have to stress about finding the exact same color every time!
WOW! I just had that dilemma YESTERDAY when I realized that my BM dresses were a few shades darker and greener than the GM ties! But after sleeping on it, I realized that it won't even matter....... With the sun beaming down on us and the ocean in the background, I don't think anyone will even notice!
I agree with several of the posters-- having some different shades of blue will not be a bad thing. It might even add some great visual interest.
I think its all colors! i have the same problem with the dark shade of purple!
its called african violet on my bridesmaid dress but on other website its a whole different shade of purple!! grrrrr
I had the same problem with the teal for my wedding. The first color I tried to match was the linens. I got pretty close but when it came to paper it was really hard to find. I just had to get as close as possible but they were different shades. No one noticed though!
Has anyone priced out linen rentals?? I wanted to rent 90x90 square overlays and they quoted me at about $20.00 per overlay!!!! That just seems CRAZY to me!!!! Buying them is cheaper, but what I am possibly going to do with them after the wedding?!?!?!?!!!
My bridesmaid color dresses are tiffany blue too. The david's bridal "pool" is not tiffany blue. It's more like aqua. There is a difference between aqua and tiffany blue...althought the difference is suttle. Turquoise has a lot more green in it and no where near matches tiffany blue. But, then again retailers can call something turquoise when it is actually tiffany blue. Have you tried searching under the name "robin's egg blue"? That is the same color as tiffany... Any how I agree that it's annoying and frustrating that you can't just have a standard to this color. DB sells accessories in their "pool" color. I guess ordering everything from ONE retailer is the only way you can get the exact shade of color for everything.
huh tiffany blue was my intented colour but everything is ending up all different varieties of turquoise and robin's egg and whatever else you wanna call any colour that falls somewhere between blue and green.

My bridesmaid dresses are Pool color from David's Bridal and I was told by someone there that the color most closely matches Tiffany Blue. I am have SUCH a difficult time matching the shade of blue correctly!! I've been ordering most of my stuff online and I have a swatch of the color from David's Bridal. I started ordering everything in aqua until I realized that aqua shade seems to be different everywhere... then I tried turquoise which still doesn't seem right. I've also seen Tiffany Blue shade portrayed a few different ways. Ahhhhh, please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
