I have a hard time searching for appropriate shapewear for my beautiful gown (Allure 8634) - It has a V-neckline and a low back, so that automatically limits my options. I mainly want to flatten my tummy and to give some support/boost to my small chest (well, I suppose I can always get cups sewn into the gown). The problem is, some of the shapewear I have tried on actually adds thickness and make me look wider (when viewed from the side).

I looked on Spanx website and asked for their suggestion - they said that given the gown has a low back they suggest "power panties" - but those do not really flatten the tummy that much, I don't think.

Any suggestions?

Honestly with a back like that, I don't know of any shapewear that will flatten you out. You might try looking for a low back long line bra, like this: http://www.flattering.com/pricelist_fm.html

I have one pair of shapewear I think might work. I don't think it'd show in the back either. It's a high waisted thigh-trimmer, but it covers my stomach. it doesn't lfatten TOO much but it does smooth and flatten some. Most of the stomach ones i've tried just cut in on the worst spot and make it worse anyways.

@ejs4y8: are you referring to something that Spanx carries? Yeah, I agree with you that some of the stomach ones actually make things look worse especially when I sit down.
