Good afternoon bees!
I am looking for some fun ways to ask my girls “officially” to be in my wedding! How did some of you ladies do it? A cute card, a small gift, flowers, anything else? I would love to hear!

I made these for my girls. It took awhile, but it was fairly easy and pretty cute! They all loved them:
DIY Bridesmaids Cards

I was so lame, haha. I did my failed “be my maid” DIY boxes, then purchased them necklaces (they’re small and dainty, so good for every day wear along with wedding day wear) and asked them when I gave them the necklace.
Exception: one BM’s necklace got lost when we moved, and I just found it a couple weeks ago. I asked her to be a Bridesmaid or Best Man in December, lol.

I sent my girls these, along with their invites since they’re both flying across country, and I figured there was no reason to pay postage twice. They both loved it and gushed about how honored/happy/excited they were. Altogether I think it cost me around $15.

Bridesmaid or Best Man necklace
Everything was DIY, the necklaces were made from materials left over from my bridal jewelry, the boxes are made of cardboard decoupaged with old newspapers.

I wrote them a letter in a card, talking about our friendship and how honoured I would be if they would stand up with me. One Bridesmaid or Best Man was completely surprised, like she hadn’t even considered that I would ask her (even though we have been friends since we were like 11!!!), and the other two knew before they got the card.
I wish I had done a little kit or something, but oh well!

This is completely unrelated, but it reminded me of a funny story so I had to share. My Fiance is actually very good friends with my ex (that is how Fiance and I met). There is absolutely no bad blood between any of us, and when Fiance and I got engaged he sent my ex (his friend) a text saying “Hey want to stand somewhat near to me, in clothes I pick out for you while I make out with your ex-girlfriend in front of her parents?”
I almost died laughing when he told me that.

I had vintage handkerchiefs sent to them in calligraphied envelopes.
Here’s one of them:

I gave them each a bottle of wine with a cute note and then a personalized hanger :).

LOL… so did I. No flare or anything else. I called each one of them up and asked them. *shrugs*

I sent each girl a little care package with a puzzle that had a cute poem, and a personalized note. They all loved it and thought it was super fun and sweet!

I sent my girls flowers with a card asking them

My first two bridesmaids are my younger sisters, so I made them each a card.. I considered buying something more official, but knowing them this thrilled them even more! They appreciate the time it too me (who they KNOW is so not artistic) to make them each something.. I got the words from etsy cards 😛

I secretly mailed them these cards!
