I used these, as well! The black satin ribbon actually looked stunning next to the black damask pattern. I left it as is, and received so many compliments on them. I had a black/white wedding, and purples and Pinks were my accent colors.
I recommend recruiting a few bridesmaids to assemble these, as it takes quite a while. You have to attach the ribbons to the black damask backer, then put glue dots on the white card with the text. It's quite a time-consuming process.
A local printing shop printed the actual text on my invites, and saved me from having to print them at home. Definitely worth it!
I am using programs from Michaels made by Brides as my invitations. Hopefully I can post them in the next few weeks!
My sister used the same ones for her wedding this summer. I agree with Miss Pinot, get some help with these because they take some time. About halfway through I switched frm using the dots to just using a stick of glue because it seemed faster.
I would keep all the text black except your names and put those in a fun, cursive fuschia color! Good luck! :)
I didn't get help assembling mine, but did have them printed at Kinkos for 10cents/invite. To make the assembly go faster I made a template to center the white ontop of the damask. Then I attached ribbon to the damask. Then I attached the stickers to the white paper, Only then did I finish assembling them.
LOVE them. im doing a black and white wedding, too. how much is it costing you?
My one suggestion for dressing them up might be to line the envelopes with colored paper (maybe in fuschia to match the ribbon). I am a little obsessed with lined envelopes because I think they look SO pretty. It can be kind of time consuming (I stamped my own paper and cut out all my own liners, so I know from personal experience). You can probably find envelope liner templates at a craft store or here.
I am hosting an invitation/program making party at my house in a few weeks. I invited several of my girl friends and am providing snacks and wine in exchange for their help. It should make the process much more fun.

Hi Bees!
I just purchased these invitations (link below) at Michael's and I was wondering if any Bees have gotten the same or similar invite sets and personalized or dressed them up yourself? I am already planning to place the black ribbon with fuschia (to match my colors), but what else would you do?
All pics and ideas are welcome!! Thanks!
