My wedding was a little over two years ago, but I’ll try to remember a rough outline!
9 AM – Arrive at church to get hair and make-up done, three BMs and myself, one hair dresser/make-up artist
11:30 AM – Photographer arrived
12 – Lunch arrived
1 PM – Start getting dressed/ready (we were supposed to get dressed sooner, but my BMs got sidetracked by a movie)
1:30 PM – The groom, GM, FG, and RB, specific family memebers show up, get dressed
1:45 PM – Start pictures of posed and family shots
3 PM – Hide in the downstairs area of church as guests arrive
3:30 PM – Ceremony
4 PM – Ceremony ends, do receiving line, mingle with people
4:30 PM – Take more bridal party photos, then head off to reception area
5:30 PM – Take more bridal party photos at reception area
6 PM – Reception begins.
How much time to allot for pictures will really depend on what time your ceremony starts so you can factor in getting ready and travel time, if necessary. What helped me was that my photographer and I had come up with a list of specific photos I wanted, so when we started taking pictures the pastor’s wife was in charge of finding the necessary people for photos so they moved along quickly, and efficiently.
Even with about two hours of pictures beforehand, there were still some that we missed, but had time afterwards to get more in.
